So, I know that people have made custom floors for back in the trunk but I haven't seen anyone make one for where the rear seats are. For my sound system, my amps are mounted on the back of my seats screwed into the metal backings. I never have more than one passenger so my rear seat is pointless. I've decided to completely remove the seats and build a floor above the seat indents to mount my amps on.

I started the floor using an 8'x4'x3/4" sheet of particle board. Measured the rear width from side panel to side panel and it's approximately 50" so I cut the board to 60" long for error room:

From the point where the trunk ends to the front of the rear seats is approximately 26" so I cut the board to 31" long again for error room:

Next I cut the board in half down the middle to make it easier to install:

Trim off the excess I left for error room:
4" for the back part

2.5" for the middle

Also if you're wondering I'm going to trim up the bottom half of the side panels to make them fit flush against this.

About an inch extra to remove in the middle

Cut 4 lengths of 5" of 2x4 for legs

8" from the corner for the wheel well

Stack 2 for the middle where I'll join the 2 halves and will eventually screw it down. I have them stacked right where the center seat belt part was between the seats

That's all for this afternoon. Had to go to work.

Kully and JJ are your blokes for this, as they used to build boxes for subs and amps to sit into. You ought to have seen Tango in her last days.....ask JJ how many batteries he had feeding the system lol!!!!!!

I'm not building it to house my subs. Just as a platform for my amps. A much cleaner look than the backs of my seats

Managed to cut the side panels down to size so they will fit around the floor today. Easiest way to measure the size for my setup was 2 3/4" from the bottom of the inserts

Got it all together today. All I did was get some fabric from a local audio store that goes on a subwoofer enclosure and it matches well. Used some Loctite spray adhesive glue and BAM the fabric was stuck to the floor. To anchor it down there is a small 2x4 block under each "honeycomb" of holes on the front corners next to the doors where the side panels used to screw unto under the rear seats then just used a long deck screw to connect the 2x4 and the boards. Then one long deck screw on the back and it's not going anywhere.

Thanks guys. Eh for the time being I'll stick with this. Not sure what else to put back there at the time. I may move my equalizer that's in my glove box back there but idk as of yet

As per Pids post, I'm not really into the ICE thing either, but that is definitely a good build, very neat and tidy - love the lighting too - good job.
