So, I know that people have made custom floors for back in the trunk but I haven't seen anyone make one for where the rear seats are. For my sound system, my amps are mounted on the back of my seats screwed into the metal backings. I never have more than one passenger so my rear seat is pointless. I've decided to completely remove the seats and build a floor above the seat indents to mount my amps on.
I started the floor using an 8'x4'x3/4" sheet of particle board. Measured the rear width from side panel to side panel and it's approximately 50" so I cut the board to 60" long for error room:
From the point where the trunk ends to the front of the rear seats is approximately 26" so I cut the board to 31" long again for error room:
Next I cut the board in half down the middle to make it easier to install:
Wheel well cutouts
Trim off the excess I left for error room:
4" for the back part
2.5" for the middle
Also if you're wondering I'm going to trim up the bottom half of the side panels to make them fit flush against this.
About an inch extra to remove in the middle
Cut 4 lengths of 5" of 2x4 for legs
8" from the corner for the wheel well
Stack 2 for the middle where I'll join the 2 halves and will eventually screw it down. I have them stacked right where the center seat belt part was between the seats
That's all for this afternoon. Had to go to work.
