So watching the Dash Cam fotages, its got me thinking about mine. I have

https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/262129020731

which is good, but it doesnt include my speed or location & i havent found a way to hardwire it into the loom due to it using a usb cable.

so do we have any recomendations for a new one? As im looking at buying a new one to hardwire, i might be being paranoid but the amount of Corsa that seem to want to try and race/ drive like idiots is unreal, i dont seem to get it at all when i take the Volvo out! So im quite keen to sort this

I've had the Transcend Drive Pro 220 since September and have had no issues with it. It includes GPS and puts the speed at the bottom of the video. It also has WiFi so that you can connect to it with an app on a smart phone (Andriod and iOS).

As for hard-wiring it, you'll need to get something like this 12v to 5v mini usb - 3m .

As above. Mine is same as Marks and with no issues. I hardwired it by simply opening up the siggy lighter adapter and soldering the 12v supply into it. The "magic mirrors" are good but imo have now got a bit too fussy.

Thanks both, the wifi on the unit does that only allow you to download clips when at home on your drive? Or is it live streaming? I cant seem to find the answer one google

You might want to have a look at the product page on their site, http://www.transcend-info.com/Products/No-692
[h=3]Wi-Fi & App QR Codes[/h] Thanks to its built-in Wi-Fi and supported by the free downloadable DrivePro App, for Apple iOS and Android devices, the DrivePro 220 can be operated by a passenger as the driver gets on with the task of driving. When connected to the DrivePro 220's dedicated wireless network, you can view live video footage during recording, playback and download videos, and easily adjust DrivePro 220 settings directly from your smartphone or tablet.

The live video is slightly delayed (maybe half a second or so) and viewing the list of videos can be a bit slow, although I did upgrade to a 64GB card (about 9 hours full HD), so it has a lot to look through.

Hey Ricky, have a look at this Youtube clip - it tells you everything you need to know. You need to find a fuse that only switches to 'live' when the ignition is on.

You can buy a fuse adaptor kit like this one: http://uk.suntekstore.com/goods.php?id=14009665&utm_source=gbuk&utm_medium=paid

I also have the Transend DrivePro and intend on hard wiring into my new Mondy.

Good luck.

Which version app do you use Mark. Reading reviews on the app store, ver 3.8 (latest) looks less than favourable. I've installed it anyway and will report back.

Sorry for the slow reply, didn't see this post. I have version 3.8 and don't seem to have any issues.
