Definitely renaming her Christine/end of an era.

Well - I couldn't sell her for £800 even when she was fully kitted up and - TBH - he won't be making that much profit even if he did.

Due to a drastic change in finances - and no time to do anything at the moment due to work load I just had to get rid asap

Its flaming out of order

This has happened quite a few times over the years but when you own something it is your choice what you do with it from there on. As Ian has said, he will not make that much really. More money to be had in breaking it and selling stuff seperate. The engine alone would sell for £300-£400 easy to the right person.

And - a response from the seller....i asked why he is selling so soon after buying.

hi , i bought it simply to go to ireland on a house hunt with my wife(thats what i told her ... really i was gonna keep it) expecting not to find a house ..... i found one & now need all the money i can get as i have to move there in 28 days ..... oops ..... drives excellent , sounds fab , looks beasty (the local kids all thought it was a jag ;) ) ... bit juicy & could do with paint touch ups .... loads of power ... wish i could keep her :( . good luck if you bid .... if you win she wont disapoint ..... cheers ...... Dan

To be fair - that's what he told me before he bought it. His ST24 had died and he needed a car to get to Ireland - he'd heard of 'The Phoenix' before and was interested - he took the money from the house deposit without telling the wife but he hoped to keep the car anyway. He made me an offer and I accepted - he got the train up and gave me the cash - deal done.

Of course I'll be a bit sick if he gets more than I could for it but I really don't want or need to know what she goes for - she's gone - and that's it for me - for the time being anyway :devilish:

All kind of weird and uncomfortable.. Dude lied to his missus about something so fundamental? Oh well, not my place to judge. But I can't fault you for being so calm about it Iain.

At the end of the day he was the first person to come up with cash within acceptable parameters - I could have doubled my money if I'd boned her but I chose, for a number of reasons, not to. The one thing that I could not gamble on was having to MOT 2 cars within 2 weeks of each other. I sold her with less than 4 weeks MOT so I don't know how attractive she'll be to buyers with days left on her ticket!!
