Love the sound and comfort, but got a few issues that i will address,
One is the heated seats, dont heat, another the heater takes a age to get warm, maybe im just used to mondern cars heating up quicker,

But like i say, the comfort and sound amazing...!

Hi bob welcome dude, seats only come on below a certain temp iirc. should warm up reasonably quick how long is a long time?.

Hi Bob and welcome to the madhouse!
If your only problem is heated seats (luxury, I have bog standard cloth seats) you're off to a good start - could be a fuse maybe, the handbook will indicate which fuse it is. The heater shouldn't take too long to warm up (engine gets warm in <5 mins unless you have an issue with thermostat or something), but warming up the inside of the car will take a while with ambient temperatures as they are now - maybe this is the problem? I take it the heater blows hot eventually? Maybe someone else will chip in with a tip.

Enjoy your cougar!

Thx wow quick replys ;)

Only had the car three days, so going to, check fuses etc, and have a dabble ,on the weekend.. heater does get warm, but does take a little longer, than expected, maybe like i said, maybe just not used to the cougar yet, Payed £750 for her, full service history, 4 new Pirelli tyes, new pads. very good body, interior, just a few switches and bits, need tlc. A Bargin uuuuummmm i think So, or Im happy with the Purchase..... time will tell....!

....! A lot of car for the Money, Cheap as chips, Cougars
Hopefully keep her a while, miss my parking sensors though lol

Thanks again
Bob
Happy Motoring

Hello Bob and welcome to the forum.
As JJ says the seats only operate if the ambient temp. is below 12 or 14 degrees and with the red collar on the switch showing ie with the button out.

Been pushing button in,oooooooppppps, but either way does not show any signs of Illuminatation.... going to spend a few hours on the weekend.... Cougaring
Thanks again
Bob

The button doesn't illuminate and should be pushed and released to show a red band around it. The seats should then heat up if the temp. is low enough.

Hi, welcome to ukcougar.com, your in the right place for all things cougar related, as well as some crazy banter. You will also be able to find all the fixes you need in our subscriber sections. Have a browse around the open forums and get a feel for the place. Remember! ukcougar.com is the only workshop manual for the big cat.

Heated seats switch through a relay which is tucked up above the throttle pedal above the ECU and iirc, the same relay also switches the foglights, so it might be easier to just switch on the fogs to see if that relay is in place.

hi Bob, and welcome, like you i'm new to Cougaring, having got mine 2 days ago, i also paid £750 its a bit of a happy accident really as i needed a new car and it came in at the dealers i work for on a part-ex and couldn't resist it, its a 2.0 zetec with full FSH, only 3 owners and only 39,800 miles from new...

I've been out for a 60 mile drive today and it drives very well, no knocks or bangs, but as couple of minor things need attention the boot release has stopped working since last week when i looked at it and the front tyres will need changing in a month or so and I think a set of new plugs may be in order as it's a little fluffy at about 6k even after a blast up the motorway.

Enjoy mate i'm certainly going to

Pictures will be arriving here soon :D

Cheers Jel

Thank you for your info, going to have a look, swich on rear fog lights, and tomorrow, in day light hours if not working, check the relay..

For the heating issue would the viakal trick help him chaps?

It would definately help things along Dave.. At least if it's done now, regardless of weather it actually needs doing or not, it gives a datum point, Bob can tick the box (y)

Decent looking car, and that dash must be the second one i've seen ever :D
