Well, I've blown the engine. It's been a nice 4 year romance, but I think the time has come to part ways. It's a dark dark time. I've bought a 3.5 Ltr V6 Nissan Murano, but it doesn't even come close to replacing her. In fact, I resent it even more for trying to replace my beloved cougar. sniff.

I'd just had the idle valve replaced and a full oil change too. I've already replaced the engine once before, I'm sure I could do it again but that would be £200 for the engine and a good few hundred to fit. I can't really justify it. Would I get more breaking it, or perhaps someone would want to take the car as is, especially for multi point prins the LPG kit fitted 2010?

She's sat outside my house SORN feeling very sorry for herself. What should I do people? Suggestions warmly welcomed.

You'd get good money for the body kit, alloys,the best thing would be to break it I'm afraid.
Either that or try and get a MFSM together and pay every body in pig and beers
 
I'd look at the condition of everything else including bodywork. If everything else is good then it looks too good to break, but if other stuff is needing doing or close to it that would add to the cost and then I would probably sell or break.
 
Haha, Thanks dude. Plenty of pigs and beers in newcastle, but embarrassed to say I don't even know what MFSM is! Been away from the forum too long!
 
Out of curiosity, please pm me a price for the whole car, thanks. Also please include known faults and information on the diagnosis of the engine.
 
If you're interested in getting her going again then I have a very cheap V6 engine (not sure whether yours is a Zetec or V6)
 
Thanks joyrider! It is a V6. Very tempting, but in reality I don;t think I can afford to get it fitted, then maintain her further. Here's a list of everything spent on her since purchase giving an idea. I just want to get what I can for her. Think she'll be going onto eBay as it. Hopefully someone will be looking for an LPG system in great condition ready install as well as body kit, spoiler, wheels etc.

Thanks for the votes, guys. I've made my decision. Rather than dropping another engine in, I'm going to source another cougar in better condition than mine, then swap over the LPG kit (sorry to those that wanted it), the body kit, and all the other bits and bobs I want to keep. I'll then break mine and scrap. Now comes the job of trawling the internet looking for the perfect replacement. Wish me luck!
