Hey guys n' girls, sorry that I haven't been around. Been flat out with work, apart from a weeks holiday, then got sick half way through. Anyway......my coug went in for it's MOT this morning, and she has failed on the following:

Both front cv boots failed

Both front brake disks and pads failed

Front wishbone bush failed

They are doing the work this afternoon, so hopefully get a pass later on.

Will let you know what happens.

I still haven't got around to doing any of the work I wanted to get done, as my work have changed my hours. I went from being a 24/7 shift worker back in December. However, now that I have moved to days, they have changed the rules and I am now doing as many 12hr shifts as well as weekends, which day working never was before! So I am very angry, as that is why I moved from 24/7 to get my weekends back and only work 8.5hrs a day rather that 12.25hrs a day. So, I am no better off, in fact I now get less days off than I did before!! Arrrrggghhh!!!!!

Cheers for now, Tim

Hi Tim, good to hear from you. Sorry to hear about the fail but it sounds like you've got it in hand.

Sorry to see that you won't make 'Fest this year...

I guess you had already signed a "working time directive" opt-out allowing you to work more hours in some weeks than is normally permitted; that said, they can't make you (or penalise for not agreeing to) work more than your normal week.
And they can't make you, neither can you choose to, work more than six days without a day off; though you'd likely be too knackered to get off the sofa that day if your shifts are 12+ hours.

The garage advised they need the car until tomorrow, so won't see it until after work tomorrow. Re:Fest, yes, sorry not have made it, but getting difficult with work at mo, so not good. I possibly won't see you guys again until Combe next year.

She'll be fine bud. Don't get doing too many hours, you get no extra thanks for it.

Thanks Matt, yeh, have been getting quite stressed of late. Unfortunately I have no option, as have to do the hours rostered, all part of being a civil servant lol!!

Could be much worse (y)

You'll feel the difference with the new wishbones on her

She had new wishbones only a few years back (about 6 years). I think the lady from the garage got it wrong, as not what is shown on-line checking the mot failure details.

Yes, signed one 10 years ago, as really had no option, as seemed to be part and parcel of the job. This is the joy of being a civil servant.
