Filling blank space where tax disc once was

I know window stickers are available, from Pid16v I believe, but are their any plans to produce a circular club sticker to fill the tax disc holder ?. From next month, October 2014, the DVLA are no longer issuing tax discs but will be relying on surveillance cameras to catch non-payers. The Big Brother aspect of this is perhaps another subject for another time.
I will certainly buy one if they are made.

dogsbody, I am talking about a tax disc sized sticker that will fit into the tax disc holder, therefore there should be no concerns about obscuring drivers, or anybody else's, view.

Just got my Mondeo renewal through for the end of the month.

The reminder states I will not receive a tax disc.

The option to pay monthly starts on November 1st.

From the end of this month you no longer have to display your tax disc

I took the opportunity when I renewed my tax last time to put a club badge where the tax disc usually goes and moved the disc upwards in preparation for it being removed ;)

Definitely still happening, got the disc for the amazon in the post last week and it wasnt even perforated!

Because I'm a bit belligerent and bloody-minded, I wonder the actual chances of plod issuing a NIP or reporting for "Failure to display" from this point onwards?

Might tug the one on the Mazda now to be honest.

You don't NIP for failure to display a tax disc full stop, ever.

Police also do not get involved with tax issues until a car is two months plus one day out of date, at which point they act as an agent for the DVLA and seize the vehicle.

DVLA don't give two hoots until its more than 14 days out of date

I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I absolutelt cannot wait to peel off all my tax disc holders, bin them then clean the entire windscreen properly and never have to have that sodding disc irritating me in the corner of the windscreen ever again!

I have no idea why - but things stuck to the glass drive me absolutely potty! When cleaning cars up until now I've walked away with a Chief Inspector Dreyfuss-style nervous tick because of damned tax discs!

So we could all remove them now theoretically?! Would anybody care?

I have been personally reported for failure to display but this was in 2007 so I guess things may have changed in the meantime!

reported and NIP are two different things.

I will be stopping displaying mine on October 1.

Strictly the offence is failure to display - that offence is null and void beyond that date.

The time scales i was referring to relate to taxing your vehicle, not displaying the disc

I'm aware they are different, that why I mentioned them both in my first post, I wasn't sure which procedure would be used in this instance - thank you for clarifying.

I'll whip mine out now, by the time it's wound it's way through the system it'll be a faff-arse to deal with anyway.... and I'm with Jamie crap cluttering the windscreen doesn't do it for me!

NIP - dangerous driving, careless/inconsiderate driving, leaving vehicle in dangerous place, dangerous cycling (tis true), careless/inconsiderate cycling, failure to confirm with indication / instruction of a police officer in uniform, failure to comply with a traffic sign, exceeding temporary speed restrictions, exceeding speed limits on a special road, exceeding temporary speed limit imposed by order, speeding

I realise that :)
I got a warning on my last MOT for an air feshener hanging from my rear view mirror. The tester told me it was a fail according to the new rules as it obscured vision, he went on to say that the same would apply for tax disc holders when the disc gets abolished. Dunno if he was talking out of his backside or not to be honest :)
