Ive been and spoken to my MOT tester today about self adhesive plates in general and from what he has said as long as it is on a reflective background, the correct size and spaced lettering and is secure then it won't be a problem regradless of the age of the car.

Doesnt look right at all on the bonnet. Think, on the bumper would be better.

I think you are right. I did mock it up offset on the bumper in an Alfa style but it looked a bit strange there too, was a bit hard to judge it in either position with the backing paper still on.

It does look quite odd on the bonnet but i think I'm going to leave it for a week or so and see if it grows on me. Really loathed to put it back in the centre now i have gone to the effort of filling and painting it.

Doesn't look good on the bonnet. How about under the bumper on the LH grille (although airflow to the rads might be compromised.)
