Finally MOT tomorrow

It had a new front-to-back driver's side(not the one that goes over the tank) brake pipe two years ago Add, so that's one you shouldn't have to worry about.

Ok thanks Andy, that's one less thing to worry about, i did not look really, but i did notice the power steering pipes will need doing sooner or later.. i will get to that in the new year though.. (y)

Well it's good news and bad news today.... the good news is "IT'S PASSED IT'S MOT" ...

The bad news is i am now on the road again.... :)

Anyway thanks so much to Si today, he has been a diamond and did it in his spare time, but there is a couple of points we need to sort, there is a small amount of welding still to be done, not structural, the brake lines on the rear will need changing, we are going to make a weekend of it very soon and do everything in one hit, Headers and Y pipe, wire brush the whole underside and weld any parts that may need doing, then seal and waxoil the whole underside, change droplinks all round, bigger 300mm brakes on the front to be swapped, and finally exhaust on, then it's the skirts all round to be fitted.... so all in all, Happy days...
I have just got to tax it on Monday now as i missed the post office today...
Anyway just a little pic of her all smiley with a fresh MOT...

Nice one mate, always a big relief, especially for an unknown quantity. When you have owned a car for a long time, you have a rough idea of the issues, when you get another car, you are never quite sure what the MOT will throw up.

Spot on Rich, I was 80% sure this car would go through, the emissions where fine and so where the brakes, i was a little worried about wish bones etc due to it being sat for so long, but they are fine too..
Now i have worked my way round the car and i am getting through the list of things to do i think it will be completely sound within a month or 2..
But yes mate, a massive relief, Just need to get out and play in it one night when nothing is on the road, so i am used to the manual again, I did have a small drive today, no stalling or problems so far.. :)
The car just needs some TLC and it will be a peach..

Cracking news Add, you must be chuffed to bits, and re-learning to drive :)

Cheers Al, over the moon today now, Going to have a beer and chill after all the stress over the past couple of weeks, I feel bad about scrapping the old cougar, but rescuing this one has made up for it.. :)

Sometimes you just have to make the choices mate. At least you can relax a while now, knowing you have a good car again.

Nice turn around there Add............. I have been watching your other thread with interest and what you have managed to do in such a small time scale is a credit to you. Well done mate !!!

Nice one Add, from one frosty to another. This time without the spazmatic ;)

Yeah for now John, until i get a sore left leg, or lazy again....

Once i have done the rest of the work, i want to try and keep this one in good condition mate.. i doubt that i will do all this again to be honest... so this one had better last a while.. :)
