Any comments or suggestions welcomed !

Thats a good clean example you've got there. If you intend to keep it standard might be an idea to try and source some C2 lights for it although I realise that these must be quite a rarity to get hold of. Im guessing that its a 2.0 16v one being as you don't have spot lights in the bumper???

Enjoy it (y)

Thanks mate.

Yes, Its going to stay standard except some bigger wheels and smoked lights and side repeaters. It is the 2.0 one, fitted with a Focus Zetec Engine.

Looking very smart Mark.
Gowrings were/are? a Ford dealership in Newbury but the 'OO' reg. is from Chelmsford where a lot of Ford Dagenham 'factory' cars were registered.

Thanks guys.

The old Mini in the background looks better in the pics than it is, its very rough and has lots of filler everywhere. My mate who is selling the Cougar to me ( light blue shirt leaning on Mini ) is welding the Mini up for a customer ( he does cars up for a living ).

The Cougar went straight through its MOT on friday with no advisorys and so I will pick it up from him with a full MOT, fully serviced and with 4 months tax too !

The Stereo / CD player is from out of a Ford Scorpio.

The only thing on the car that "bugs" me a little is that the black runners above the windows down the side of the car have gone a bit "funny" with age - are these easy to replace ?

commonly known as spotty rubbers, there should be a `how to` about cleaning them up, don`t think there is a cougar in the land that doesn`t suffer from it, a new set will set you back almost £100.

Very nice looking Frosty there Mark and very clean. As the others have said, try and source a set of C2 headlights for it if you can. Re: The black window runners - this is a bit of a pain, they all do it as Phil has said above. I've cured mine, by putting a chrome strip around, it's not to everyones taste, but I prefer it and it does look good on black.

Auto's mate ;) apart from yours I wager, most of the Blurples I know of have been automatics; Phil, Pollard, Stewart, Warthog and even Sir Shag of Monkeys was before it was converted to manual.

Anyway it was only a little playfull banter between "friends" ;)

The silver C2 looks extremely good - I have one the same except it has a couple extra cylinders. ;) What's the mileage on that btw? Mine has 93K and originally had cloth seats and the diamond pattern was totally worn away (not ripped or split) on the seat base and lower back where people had obviously been sitting for a long time! Have just fitted leather though and of course nobody, but nobody wants C2 cloth seats! :D

WildV6 - the chrome looks stunning with the black car. The only time I wished my frosty was in black when seeing your picture!

My car is a manual, as is Lottysvdub's. I don't there's any connection between the colour and the gearbox, it'd surely just be down to what boxes the punter in the showroom ticked. I've never really given it much thought to be honest!

Ginja is afraid of change...including gear change...which is why he is afraid of autos. My latest car is also an auto (5 speed, not like the naff 4 in the cougar) but with 220bhp and 300lb ft at the rear wheels so 0-60 in under 7 lol.
