First real problems

Did the other front, not too bad now I know how. On the rears which bolts need removing? Obviously pinch bolt and what else? Thanks in advance

So newest niggle,my car sometimes hunts when idling, works perfectly otherwise, seems to be worst when my fuel gets low and I'm doing short journey s
So icv, fuel filter, pump... What best place to start . I also have a cheap obd reader, will my cougar be new enough to get a reading?

Start with the cheapest option probably cleaning the IACV, then fuel filter and pump as a last resort. Has yours got an EGR valve? Reader port is behind the removeable panel under the steering column round about where your right knee would be.

Its a 2000 c1 2.5 v6. Ill try the obd reader too, egr if there's a great shout. Used to have a vectra that did the same till I bypassed the egr

Dogsbody(Mart) can supply bespoke EGR blanking plates if that turns out to be the problem although with that year of car it's possible yours hasn't got one as Fords stopped fitting them sometime in early 2000.

I'll try cleaning and getting a reading, plus filter and might blank egr anyway, does it throw up any warning lights? On a different note if I fit a decay pipe will that throw up any lights?

It shouldn't do, no. There aren't any sensors downwind of the cat. The only problem I've seen with a decat (and it wasn't on a Cougar) was that the exhaust was too free-flowing and confused the lambda. It said the car was running lean when it wasn't.

Yes. The C1 is OBDII compliant and even a basic reader should be able to talk to it.

Dragged codes off
P0401 not enough gas recirculation valve

is this the egr???

And think tge other code was p0113 maufacturer coded
