Hi Guys and Gals!

Im James, from Plymouth, Devon - Just got my first Cougar.

Had a few Mondeo ST24's in the past, and recently was looking for a car to Race/Hill Climb (not going up dirt hills, the other hill climb/sprint!), My old man has a mk2 Escort and I was wanting to race in his class for a bit of healthy competition! haha.

Picked her up on Sunday, needed some love and attention but then you do get what you pay for ! (£600!)

So far, New wipers purchased, new window relay (window not working - made myself look a tit at the toll booth!) and a few other bits to investigate but seems great so far.

Already found some great info, well worth paying the joining fee so ill have that sorted next few days but thought I'd sign up and say hello! :)

I know we are all picture whores so here goes....

Hello and welcome aboard James you will have some good banter and there are several national and local meets to attend. So enjoy your big cat.

I forgot to add a few things, Id imagine you worked out that it was the V6 ;-), got 65k on the clock. Obviously the infamous Blurple.

Obviously this is going to be used for racing, apart from the common springs/dampers etc, I heard about the 19mm Anti Roll Bar links? Is that a well worth mod to do? I got a mate in the states at the moment and hes just picked up a Mercury badge for me so, might aswell make the most of discounted delivery lol.

Hi James and welcome to the madhouse

That'll be the SVT rear anti-roll bar - a few members have done that mod to their but I think you need new brackets to accommodate the bigger diameter bar. Strut braces front and rear have had positive reviews on here too so another thing to consider (y)

Your Cougar already has a 19mm anti roll bar and the stronger front wishbones it shares the same suspension as the st200 there was a 21mm upgrade from the US it may have been a rousch or BAT part IIrc
Also a member on here makes the front and rear strut braces which stiffen up the car immensly.

Welcome to the club mate. Hope you enjoy it around these parts. Believe its your turn to get the drinks in:beer::beer::beer:

Hi James & welcome to UKC.com, tidy low mileage cat you've bagged there, I'd say all things considered, you got yourself a bargain.(y)

Forgive me, I got them the wrong way round. It was a long day haha. I've been looking at strut braces, Im guessing a Mondeo strut will be the same for the front?

Thanks for all the welcome everyone! Certainly seems a great forum and a good bunch of knowledgeable people! Looking forward to taking part! :)
