Front spring question

Hi,
some time ago i changed my stock springs with lowering springs, i did a garage cleaning and only now noticed that my old springs were different height ) is this normal, or they have to be identical? Ill try to post some pics tomorrow, but maybe some of You already know the answer

Do you mean that your old springs are different height to your lowering springs?
Or that the old springs are a different height to each other?

It sounds to me like the old springs were not an identical pair. Which is a bit odd.

It was a pair of front springs, and the car handled and sat on the ground well and aligned... here is the link to the pics i took in the garage.

A friend of mine wants to put them on his cougar, and now we are wondering witch should go to what side... because, as i said, the car stood perfectly even of them...

The shorter spring is broken. Your car certainly did NOT handle well like that! :stop:

They should match so I wouldn't trust using that pair.

Where do You see that it is BROKEN? For me it looks fine, because curves are going flat on both ends, so the spring could sit. If it would be broken (or cut so the curves would end on the same spot), curve on the shorter spring would not go flat... any more ideas? :/ Maybe you have some pics of Your old stock springs?

Using my phone, the pics are a bit dark but on studying them further, I agree with Jamie. The shorter spring looks like it has half a coil missing. It's broken.
