gauging interest for breaking

im gauging interest on breaking snowcat. I just dont have the heart in it anymore and the winter wasnt kind on the paintwork on the arches. as a result its going to have to go into the bodyshop and be repaired and I dont want to spend the money. Im never going to get what I want for it as a whole car so im debating breaking it.

parts I can see people would want.

Engine as a complete item
megasquirt ecu and loom
front mount intercooler and pipework
carbon fibre interior
no limits body kit and side skirts
19" alloys
koni dampers and springs
brembo kit
front bucket seats
boot with wiper 3rd brake light and rear washer smoothed.
rear lights with covers
c2 headlights
boost guage and air fuel guage with wide band
blitz boost controller.
 
Oh god not another one......and particularly not Snowcat :(

Having said that, could be tempted by the bucket seats :rolleyes:
 
If it came to it, I'd have half of those parts, (particularly the kit, the springs/dampers, brakes and the C2 lights) depending on price.

But just how bad is this rot you're talking about Rob? It's just that it sounds like a couple hundred quid's worth of work for the sake of an iconic car.

Do you have pictures of the problem areas?
 
its not particularly bad chris. its all four arches and the front bumper is chipped. its more the fact I have better things to spend money on as im trying to save for a house.

Shame to read this Rob, although I remember you had her up for sale last year and didn't get any real interest...

Price dependent I would be interested in the tailgate, there's also the question of logistics.

Will watch with interest.

Ah, I understand now. Well, it would be sad to see it broken but I understand what you mean about not making back the outlay.

I'd be happy to have Snowcat parts on my two if it came to that. But if there's anything I/we can do to keep her alive at minimal cost, I'll happily be on-board with that too.
 
I might do a fix meet but to be honest I think its just postponing the inevtiable. Been giving it a lot of thought and I'm just not in the same position with cars I was a couple of years ago. It's never made it to a club show and with money the way it is I doubt it will.
 
Really sorry to read this Rob; terrible decision to have to make. :(

On a mercenary note though I'd like second dibs on the C2 lights.
 
Another one bites the dust yet again, very sad to see this happen if you do go through with it. It is such a shame that you can not get the money you need from it as a whole car. Good luck with whatever happens to the car.
 
This is not good to hear mate! I have been looking forward to seeing Snowcat in the flesh for quite some time now.
Gutting.

That said I'd also be interested in the Megasquirt, the Brembos and the rims. For starters.
 
Not good to hear rob, I keep having the same thoughts with mine atm, but I keep slapping myself in the face and thinking again! Its all about time, money, effort......and the kindness of others helping me, making me keep her

I think im just on a downer at the minute, I dunno!

Anyways best of luck with whatever you end up doing mate. Its a gorgeous car!
 
ok this is going to happen. in true vulture tradition the people who posted in here and jumped on the band wagon via Facebook will have first refusal on the parts the posted about. I am going to go over the car with a fine toothed comb as there are other bits I missed like short shift and plasma dash dials to list there is also the v6 box from thundercat with the quaife lsd in it that will be sold. I will start another thread in the correct section.

prices will be negotiated on on all parts. for the people who have already requested parts I will pm you in due course.
