Just renewed my subs I know this may be in the wrong place but after a lot of to and throwing and time wasters can't part with the cat. Ain't selling it to some one that ain't going look after it. Sold my blue probe on and still regret it to this day so I ain't doing it with the cat.

so my service light is on cats been sitting for ages probably done under 2000 miles since last oil, plugs ain't don't any more than 4000 miles same with air filter etc. Would normally get garage to do it but skint being honest. Any one free at the weekend to help me get her out the garage and do an oil change at least can see it needing much else hoping brakes will be ok. Any offers would of coarse get oil and filter myself I keep getting emails from euro car parts with discounts on oil etc looks cheaper than halfords
would love to get her running again before grit on roads get things freed up

Probably wouldn't be this weekend, Andy. I don't know Dick's availabilty and, having spent the last few weekends away from Joanne on various jaunts and ventures, I imagine there may be a rather significant loss of ginger, Lancastrian humour if I proposed a further immediate absence.

I am not in a rush being honest asking for help for free so not pushing to get it done quickly it's not going any ware wife's fish are looking after the car know lol

Cheers bud I'm off 21 and 22nd would that weekend be any good?

with mileage it's done I am thinking it will just be oil and filter I need to get? And then a good once over

If she's been sitting around for a while, it sounds like you have the same jobs on your hands that Tony did this weekend.

Not only service items, but MOT points. I don't know your level of knowledge so I won't insult you by schooling you, but if you want a list of things to look for and don't know already, please say. Your problem areas are likely to be body corrosion or brake pipes.

This here isn't a bad starting point.

I'm away that weekend, but could do next weekend (14/15) or 28/29. That said, if it is just an oil and filter change, I imagine Dick would have that sorted with his eyes shut and a beer in one hand.

I am hopping that's all it needs I am working the Saturday before which is why I asked about this weekend

I would love to help, but it's just too far and I can't do two MFSMs in a row anyway. I can barely walk today. :stop:

I have no idea what your tester is like, but to avoid winding him up, the big things to check are the brake lines and all of the rubber boots - CV, drop link and the pivots at the end of the wishbones.

No idea what your chassis is like, but be as critical as you can.

i had advisories on rubber boots on the mot seemingly showing some cracks but was told not to worry about them??
