Getting ready for Ford Fair

pretty peed off with my prep for Ford Fair.

Washed the car thoroughly this morning, and starting to go round with black t-cut and found loads of new chips, scratches, Asda rash and general meh....

Done the best I can with it, but I am getting ever more frustrated by the ignorant toss pots who open their doors, not giving too hoots and denting/scratching other people's car.

Not effing happy.

And the bonnet, well, that needs replacing
I found a scuff mark on my front bumper this morning, it was either done last night or this morning by the dustbin men, will polish out I think, will have a go tomorrow if I have time.

John that pic of your car looks like something from area 51 that the government have got secretly stashed away.

Exactly the reason why I park as far away from the doors of any supermarket I visit. It was quite an eye opener to see how many drivers didn't park next to me with the stripy paint job on it

With the new paint, I'll be parking even further away

What's up with the bonnet Si?

It's just full of chips and swirls. I always try to park away from other people but I have found little dings galore.

It's frustrating

I park on the otherside of the car park away from the front doors of a supermarket, and never near a Parent and Child space, still you always get someone park next to you so you can't win.

Nobody parks next to me! I walk to the shops :)

Ha ha thats the best and cheapest option
Just polished the scuffs out and filled in a couple of stone chips etc.
Tyres and fluids checked (could possibly do with more oil, but it was checked when warm) got to get some petrol tonight (not wasting my afternoon getting it on a Saturday) otherwise i'm ready..... (must not forget all my kit for track time)

It's covered in how to Si but pull the bottom hose, let it all run out, stick a hose in the header tank, flush rad through, stick hose up the bottom hose if you want (oo-er!!) and then re-fill the system, with the bottom hose back on, with the header cap off until it hits operating temp. Mix in coolant as per instructions on the bottle depending on what mix ratio it gives for what temps etc. Quite easy really. Have a search anyhoo for a more in depth guide though lol.

what colour is it?? lol, depends on the original colour too. Some are luminous yellow

It was mixed 50/50 we always use blue antifreeze unfortunatly ford use red which stains all the cooling system It can take a dozen flushes to get rid of the deposits. You can get a hydrometer tester for a few quid that will tell you how safe you coolants protection level is IIrc it was good for -25 deg. Your best bet is to remove header bottle and give it a thorough clean out and top the bottle up with antifreeze most of the discolouration will be on the inside of the bottle it self.

yeah its more of a yellowy/blue ish colour Kully,

A mate did one of them tests to see how good the coolant is i.e what temperature it can work at and he is of the opinion that the lowest temperature the guide says is that below -3 it will be in trouble, where as it should be able to operate at a temperature much lower,

You sure you wanna come here Al, it's not great lol!!!! Fingers crossed I might see you later on. Little one has been a bit unsettled today and not sure if we're gonna make it as we've no baby sitter.

Have you tried the taste test SI?. If you havn't good you'll go blind. clean out the bottle and top up with pure antifreeze this will bring the mixture ratio up higher the v6 holds 6 litres and the bottle holds approx 1 ltr
