Green Cougar........What colour brake calipers?

I might have to do a photo shop edit to see what looks good before I commit to painting...... I like the sound of Silver though.....but just thinking if it will clash with the alloys......

The only thing I will say about painting calipers is that you must be careful around the area of the bleed nipples. We were unable to bleed Rich Elliot's (though I think he's got new calipers since) because the paint had seeped into the threads and they could not be undone.

I doubt the paint would have caused the seizure Chris, more like ya basic corrosion.

corrosion is probably the cause as Al said, you might find a good coat of paint from the start would seal the threads and may prevent corrosion as it would keep the air out, but the biggest problem is electrolysis (reaction between different types of metal, the bleed nipple and the casing of caliper)

It would be a little grease during the manufacture and a lot more cars would be fixable but when they leave the factory "stuff em it's thier problem now!"

when i do the bleed nipples always bit of grease or what's to hand saves time in long run, beats drilling and tapping out
i agree mark, most of my work was on expensive coaches and time you do something a couple years down the line and thought if only a little grease or the like, would have save time in money and parts, wasn't as if the coach was cheap they started from around £220,000 would it hurt, but they claim its quicker and cheaper in production, not to long term views of saving:oops:
