Greetings UK Cougar owners!

Just to address this one because it might explain us...

2. As I'm not familiar with the Eight generation V6 Cougars I don't know what the availability of performance aftermarket parts is for those cars.

Just like in the USA, we had two options for the 8th Gen Cougar: the 2.0 Zetec or the base-level (175HP) 2.5 Duratec V6.

The Zetec wasn't really considered exceptional by buyers over here, and much like in the US, people bought them as a safe-but-pretty car. The V6 was the one to have for most of us.

But the thing is, the Zetec was the one that you could swap out everything and drop in a Cosworth YB and go nuts. By any measure, the 4-banger was the right one to make big power from.

On the other hand, the V6 was a Porsche-designed lump with Cosworth heads, and was absolutely designed from the outset to make massive power from stock with very little effort. The problem was that in the Cougar's body and in a FF configuration, you couldn't do much. There's plenty of ST200 conversions (like my Sally), and a few ST220 ones pushing 450BHP. But you're going mostly Ford there with some aftermarket tweaks. Nobody is really reaching the way that you have done.

I think that there is probably a social difference going on there in terms of car culture and what we are trying to achieve, but that's okay. Certainly love what you're doing!
