Having a little bit of work done at Mafia HQ

Manos left BMHQ today at about 8.00 pmish He has the dubious pleasure of running his car in!. has been an enjoyable few days and I've got to say M4NOS is impeccably maintained and I think Paul (Shaggers) may have some competition in the anal cleaning department . As Nick and myself removed parts Manos was busy polishing them I think if I'd stayed still long enough my baldy napper would have got the treatment. I was about to replace the splash guard and he made for it with a rag that is when we threaghtened to kick his head in and dump him in his own boot.:LOL::LOL: Good to catch up with Manos who is a true gent.

Its been a while since I last posted gents. So hi to all!!

Manos, I have been reading this thread intently so hurry up and fill us in :D looking forward to hearing more about the new additions (y)

Once again impeccable work by BMHQ!!!

I second that, but you don't do too bad yourself, no doubt you threatened to dump him into his boot in a nice way
Can't wait to see the new improved M4NOS. The car is a real credit to him (y)

Its not that bloody impeccable lol his brakes are *****!!!!!!!!!!!
Been telling him for ages he needs new ones lol and its good to see someone else dodging him while they're trying to get stuff done on his cat hahahahahahahahahahaa ;-D

He had a drive of mine I think you will be doing the big brake upgrade sooner than you think.

Think i might get away with this one being as you seen em already lol

Ok guys, I've made it home.
My grin was so big I had to open both windows to fit in the car. :)

Although the journey should have been very dull pootling along at 70mph/3000rpm, it certainly wasn't.
It was fustrating because I can definitely feel there's plenty more power that's out of reach until it's fully run in.
But what little power I can use is very impressive.
I drove continuously for the first 3 hours without the stereo on, listening to the fine music of the engine and exhaust notes. Also keeping a close eye on the temp guage and mpg.
The temp guage wasn't very exciting - needle stuck in the middle as it should be.
Mpg was 31.5 which is pretty good considering there's a small fueling issue that will hopefully be sorted soon.

Please excuse me for a bit, as I'm now going to check today's photos.....

Day 3

Nick starts on the wiring

Nick's a small chap, there's even room for him in the engine bay - with the the V6!

Meanwhile Mark works underneath, fitting the front MSDS header

IMGP3763Copy.jpg

And there it is

IMGP3767Copy.jpg

Now, about this turbine generating related part.
Not only has it enticed Iain into bunking off work to have a butchers, it's even fooled the likes of Jamie Duff and Shagmonkey.
Sorry guys - Here it is...

IMGP3769Copy.jpg

Borrowed from this...

IMGP3770Copy.jpg

And you may ask why? Well, my new water hoses are actually second hand and as they came from a Mk1 Mondie an extra join had to be fabricated/improvised due to the the Mk1 having the temp sender in the hose and the Mk2 doesn't.
So the BMHQ Vax came to the rescue by donating a small section of tubing for the task.

Mark's got a big one (apparently)

David pours in the first of the fluids - BMHQ's own recipe, a mixture of MTX and ATX fluids

IMGP3775Copy.jpg

The first rocker cover has its gasket fitted. I spent last Saturday cleaning up the oily side of this - it was covered in powdercoat overspray and blasting media. :cautious:

IMGP3777Copy.jpg

Mark and Nick then insert the bolts

IMGP3781Copy.jpg

Racebits Y-pipe fitted

IMGP3779Copy.jpg

As expected, Iain shows up to have a nose around

IMGP3782Copy.jpg

....and takes a closer look

IMGP3783Copy.jpg

It's about time these were covered up

IMGP3785Copy.jpg

That's better

IMGP3788Copy.jpg

Mark fills the oil

IMGP3789Copy.jpg

While Nick sorts the plumbing

IMGP3790Copy.jpg

Some new Magnecors

IMGP3791Copy.jpg

The auto-sparky pays a visit to code my keys to the ECU

IMGP3794Copy.jpg

Some of you may have noticed a bit of a two-tone colour scheme going on.
Even the new coolant is colour co-ordinated.

IMGP3797Copy.jpg

Guess what's being fitted next

IMGP3800Copy.jpg

The next bit completes the shiney-shiney....
I'll say no more.... :)
