If you didn't already know, the standard head unit isn't a double-din size, although it looks like it should be.

The original Ford stereo's all had double din units fitted. However, a lot of us have replaced them with single din units. My original stereo didn't have a cd player, only a tape player and radio, which is why I changed it.
OEM Ford HU's, of Cougar era, are not true double-DIN's; as they aren't deep enough.
Oh, ok, didn't know that, thought that all the OEM units were double din units? Well, I learnt something tonight.
Cheers Guys, as I understand they are 1 1/2 din which is a bit of a pain. I will probably go for a single din as I don't want to hack the car up. May improve on the speakers if they are not up to much. For now it will be my Wife's car but she does not keep cars long so when it come time to change. It will be ALL MINE!!!

They are somewhere between 1.5 and 2 DIN but nearer 2.

The nearest member to you is probably dogsbody(Mart) in Castleford also the location for this year's Christmas 'do' if you fancied meeting a few more members. :beer:
