I posted about your car when I spotted it last. I think he was having you on by saying it was in his collection for 15 years, unless he's been listing it lots over the years but it never sold.

Yeah saw your post. Do think he may have spun me a tail. I checked the MOT history and it looked like it hadn’t been registered or taxed and he had an old V5 too so I took home at his word. I do think he had maybe used it on his trade plates though 😊
 
Thinking about the dates when it was first spotted in 2011 that'd be 15 years roughly so it could have been listed a lot over the years by him but just never sold. You'd know by getting a full HPI check for sure as that usually tells you the dates of owner change. This is on vcheck that I used for one of my cars

If nothing else, you can check the MOT/Tax status on the .gov website.

He might've been trying to inflate the price ("Ah yes, she is part of my collection"), but at least you can look at the advisories/fails and learn about what you might need to do to get her on the road. It'll be interesting to hear what you find out.
