I just wanted to drop in here and say hey... Ive been viewing all the threads in this forum for the past week or so.... Here is my story

I currently own three vehicles a 2002 CBR600F4I, a 1988 Chrysler conquest tsi (highly modified by myself of course), and a 1999 cougar (stock)...

The quest is up for sale when it does sell im going to use all the money i get from it and drop it into the little coug...

I think i already have most of my build plans laid out but i will def. have some questions along the way...

Here are some pics of my quest

Just so you know a little about my mechanical and fabrication back ground... the f4i i bought off ebay (big mistake) anyway it was not as it appeared in the pictures that paint was the worst paint job ide ever seeen in my life.... so I began to rebuild everything about it...

The ONLY original parts on the bike are the engine and the frame...

Its a 02 F4I with

1000rr subframe
1000rr undertail exhaust
r1 Inverted Front Forks
600rr Swing Arm
900rr Rear Wheel (5 Spoke)
VFR Front Wheel (5 Spoke)
Kawi 636 Gauge Cluster
F4I Race Front Fairings
Powder Coated Covers
Power Coated Sprocket
Custom Rear Sets

Anyway its a long list and all of it has had to be fabricated to fit....

So Im really looking forward to building my cougar.... Here is a possible modification list for it... let me know what you all think (1999 Rio Red Cougar)

Custom Mold These Sideskirts (im good with fiberglass and bondo)

Convert to a 02 front bumper and fog lights and custom mold this front lip (since they no longer produce it)

As for rear bumpers i was hoping maybe you guys could help me find the manufacturer of this bumper

If not i may be limited to getting this bumper cutting out the center peice and filling it with a expensive grill type material (not the cheap grille mesh **** something more like ude see used on a g8)

of and i forgot that ill be adding 2" flares in the front and 2.5" flares in the back...

and run a labreemotorsports quad exhaust... sounds very european (most of you guys prolly havent heard of them... great guys as well as customer service)

YouTube - Labree Fullback Exhaust Non-Res Audi S4 - Vid1

Then drop the car... Im not sure what exactly i want to this yet... i dont have the money for koni's, but i dont wanna run kyb and have them go out in a year...

any suggestions?

As far as the motor goes its gonna stay stock for now until i decided what i wanna go as far as a route there...

anyway lemme know what you all think....

thx guys

Welcome dude, love the Quest, she's a stunner. Some big plans for the Coug, hope it all pans out well for you :) I'm sure someone will know what that rear skirt is you're after. Looks almost No Limits.

Thank you sir (isnt no limits out of business?), ya I am having a hard time locating its name in the US because the kit is def. not US manufactured and about 99.9% of the kits state side make the cougar look like a alien from mars... i think once my build is done shell look alot like a jag...

at least i see a resemblance lol

Looks like a nice conquest that one mate (y) quite a transformation on your Bike  with regards to your cougar, I am guessing it is american spec with drum brakes on the rear and 15" alloys. Converting to discs all round would be my first upgrade and then fitting a larger rear anti roll bar. depends what you want to use your cougar for though and how much you want to spend doing up a 10 year old car. If you are good with fiberglass and bondo, how about going absolutely unique and designing and making your very own body kit  i will look forward to seeing how you progress, when you come to the engine side of your cougar have a look on the NECO forum there is a guy on there called Bensonville who has designed a turbo charger to fit the 2.5L and the 3.0L V6 engines.

thx procomm... actually my us spec has 4 discs... ;) and sittin on 16"s haha... so im good there eventually im going to swap to a willwood big brake kit once i have the coin....

and since u brought up motors.. ill either convert to a supercharged 3.0 liter (there is a guy on the us forum that sell the motor and supercharged prefabbed so its a straight drop in)... OR do my own custom 4g63t set up out of a Eagle Talon or Eclipse GSX and run AWD not sure yet... because the second option may be more fabrication then i feel like doin.. haha

I'll have a look through some of the kit info I gathered when buying mine and see if I can spot a name for you ;)

btw shag... ill prolly say hands down i give u the nicest (combination of complexity with such cleanliness) coug. build...

If your going to do an engine swap mate might i suggest the V8 SHO engine out of the 97 Taurus that also is a straight swap but if you do go that route your not allowed till i have done my V8 conversion lol it is the engine i would have liked to use but as shipping to the UK with import tax and VAT makes it to expensive i am having to look at alternatives.

rwd set up or front????? I was thinking about doing a fuel injected 4.6 outa a newer mustang but i figured the engine would be to long to fit...

thank you for opening up a new option for me haha.. i hadnt realize there was one..

The Taurus V8 SHO is front wheel drive mate, engine actually uses the same automatic gearbox as the cougar but can easily be mounted to the manual. I also looked at the mustang engine but as that has to be installed longitudinally it means huge amounts of moddification to the firewall and passenger footwell aswell as engine mounts needing fabricating a specialised radiator as you dont have space for the mustang one and the cougars isn't effecient enough for the mustang engine.
I also looked at converting to RWD but due to the chassis styling I have been advised that it wouldn't drive well AWD is the way i am going.

The V8 SHO engine is 260 BHP but could be supercharged upto the same power output as a mustang as i said before it all depends on what you want to use the car for (y)

pretty mush just my mess around car (wanna make it stomp some stangs and camaros with big heads)... ive owned quite a few cars never really found my soft spot for on yet though.. ive had a 97 Eclipse GSX that i modified... a Volkswagon corrado.... a 97 mustang..... a 99 grand prix gtp..... and my quest lol im hoping i can get the cougar to fill that spot haha...

how ru planning on going awd? a supercharged sho would be a good option for me esp. since here in the states i can pick one up for $1200..

any write ups from anyone that has done it on here?

Have a look through my V8 thread mate http://www.ukcougarforum.com/vb/showthread.php?12376-Procomms-concept-cougar-V8, as far as I am aware, I am the only person in the world who has decided that the cougar needs a V8 engine lol. I will be using the AWD system from the Subaru Impreza I did have the perfect donor car but it had an accident which has put me back a few months :(

loooks like u got a beating when u mentioned the swap in the us fourms tho... :/
