Nice motor - I'm loving it so far.

Lok forward to chatting.

Hi Mick, and welcome to ukcougar.com, your in the right place for all things cougar related, as well as some crazy banter. You will also be able to find all the fixes you need in our subscriber sections. Have a browse around the open forums and get a feel for the place. Remember! ukcougar.com is the only workshop manual for the big cat.

Welcome Mick. You're quite well placed, being in Nuneaton. Neil aka Casscougar works just down the road at Paynes Ford in Hinkley and is a certified Cougar nut.

Hi and welcome aboard Mick. So what are your first mods going to be??? I can see the fried eggs have already been replaced, so that's a start, so what else??? lol

Thanks for the welcomes people.

I need to do the drop links as it's knocking at the back going over bumps, so that's first job on the hit list, other than that I've not found any other issues, so well impressed. Air con works but going to have that regassed soonish as it's not as cold as it could be.

I quite fancy a set of Mercury Cougar rear lights as they don't have the orange indicator section, but they seem pretty rare.

I haven't had the chance to have a look at the setup yet, but I may change the brake light to a combined sidelight/brake light. Depends what is going on behind the cluster when I take it out to have a look. Just don't like having one bulb for sidelights each side.

Back to work now, so chat later

I had to get mine off US eBay. All in, including delivery and import tax, they rushed me just over £100 for the pair. A nice little feature that I didn't know about until they arrived is that they have an extra little light in the far corner (ie the other 'end' of the light to where it meets the bootlid), as US cars have corner marker lights by law. You need an extra bit of cable but they take the same bulb holder as a side repeater, which Tim (Warthog) kindly soldered in for me. I chose to have them on the sidelight circuit but you could also have them as extra indicators I suppose. I got round the red indicator lens by using orange LEDs (orange filament bulbs still flash red) but you need resistors soldering in (again, very kindly done for me by Tim) to avoid triggering the bulb-out warning light in the overhead console. The first LEDs I got did flash orange but they weren't especially bright - fine at night but virtually invisible in bright sunlight. I got some better ones (I'll dig up the link if you wish) which are far brighter and all is now well.

Thanks again for the welcomes, and yes I'd sure be interested in how you've modded yours.

So where are your indicators then, and do you have any pics?

Only been driving her for a couple of days and she's great, all apart from the annoying knocking from the suspension.
In all fairness it's not too bad, but I know they get worse quickly, so I'll be changing the drop links asap.
Hopefully the ball joints are ok, but we'll see.

Pics are in my link in post #11 but you need to subscribe to see it - well worth the money though.

Anyway, here's a pic with indicator, reverse and sidelights on. Brake lights are doubled up in the red area above reverse (un-lit part in picture).

Thanks for the pic

That is very similar to what I want to do.

I have noted the subscription element of the site, and will sort that as soon as finacnces permit
