I think i was on this site before and have just come accros it again. I have my cougar nearly 4 years now. Not too many major problems either. The biggest/most expensive were a new cat and middlebox and a new calliper.
My only real issue ever with this car is driving at night. The dipped beam is just terrible. I've tried loads of different types of bulbs aswell. You nearly have to have full beams on to see properly.
Has anyone else have similar issues ? I tried searching but couldn't get a definitive answer.

Thanks for the quick replies. I have just been on ebay having a look, i take it that's were most people buy them ? They look fairly easy to install too

Have a browse around the open forums and get a feel for the place. Remember! ukcougar.com is the only workshop manual for the big cat.
Re the headlights, as D1ckl says, fit HID's. I've now got 6k in both head and main beam. Brilliant, i can actually see where i'm going :eek:

I used to think it was just my eyesight untill i drove another car at night, it was like switching from a tv aerial to HD
 
Good quality white (not blueish) bulbs are the best option. Philips or Osram.
Dont forger auto levelling systems are now required for HID lights and since January they are an MOT fail if the auto levellers do not work.

Only applies after 51 plate Jez ( or so we have been informed)
 
Thanks for the welcome. My car goes through the NCT (National Car Test) and they just check headlight condition and alignment. A Lot of people i know have passed after converting to HID so i should be ok (unless i screw up the installation).
