I glad you've found us but have you attended any other car shows such as Blackpool Ford Day, Harewood House, Tatton Park, Castle Howard, Gaydon or Ford Fair because, although we have mooted the idea of trying to attend the NEC Classic show, I don't believe we ever have.

NEC I think this would be a good idea for the club, having been involved with these over the years. Aside from the application, the club stand members have to have 4 days free to be there; set up, duration interacting with the public, then closing.
I often found it far better to have a display that benefitted awareness of the club and model (history, development etc). Pull-up banners work well. Oh, public liability insurance is also required I think. The organisers can add things like carpet for the display area too (for a fee) - the impact this has is massive.
In the past, one club I have been part of just set up bunting around the cars (not good for photography or inviting people to look around) and sat with the backs to everyone under a gazebo - not the most welcoming image to get across...
But as a visitor, I prefer the March NEC show as it's the Restoration Show, probably more applicable.

Tatton Park is supposed to be a good weekend show.
Gaydon - Old Ford Rally is a good one but our cars are outside the eligability. Ford Nationals Show there is ok though - the Museum has changed a bit and they have a rotation of vehicle from the Ford Heritage & Innovation Centre there. The side museum is good too.
Ford Fair has usually been centred around the younger generation in recent years (Fiesta/Focus pop-bang brigade) and entry can be expensive, but it is Silverstone and that's not cheap.

Classic Ford Show has found a new home at the South of England Showground near Gatwick in recent years (Santa Pod upped their rent and started their own show there around the same time, hence not returning there) - this is a nice little area, not too big and a decent turn out. They offer camping the night before to help. Be nice to see the club there but I appreciate it's not local for many.

Enjoyed Ford Nationals last year and the weather was kind. Santa Pod is local for us so date depending could be a possible. We have been going to Ford Fair Silverstone for years in sole display (last year on the Black Country Ford stand) planning this year to take 3 cars
