...and Ms. Mako damn near tore my arm off when I spotted a silver, V-reg 2.0l Cougar with 70k on the clock. So, er, now I have it and oh my word what a car!

Anyway, I'm happy to be part of the family if you'll have me. Very happy owner, and happy to meet you all.

Regards,

Chris.

Hi and welcome to ukcougar.com, your in the right place for all things cougar related, as well as some crazy banter. You will also be able to find all the fixes you need in our subscriber sections. Have a browse around the open forums and get a feel for the place. Remember! ukcougar.com is the only workshop manual for the big cat.

Hello Chris and welcome to the forum. There's no place like it.

Thanks Quicksilver and Pid_16V. I have looked around a bit but don't yet know what I need to do to be a "subscriber". Either of you have a pro-tip to help out the bewildered, please?

Aw heck. Many thanks, Quicksilver. Unfortunately I don't trust Paypal in the slightest, so I guess I'm out of here.

But good luck to you all, and thank you for the warm welcome. Here's wishing clear roads to every one of you.

Hi Chris, glad you are happy with your car, you don't have to subscribe to be part of the club, you can be an active member without subscribing, it's just that you can't get to certain parts of the forum, it'd be nice if you hang around for a while and see how you find it.
Welcome to ukcougar.:)

Thanks Richb. I guess my trust issues shouldn't keep me away from what turns out to be a very friendly forum. :)

Unfortunately http://ukcougar.com/joinpaypal.htm gives me a 404, even with the script blocker switched off. Is it just me?

If you would rather not use paypal mate I can give you the bank details to do a bank transfer or pay it cash over the counter this will take longer to verify though.

Paypal is secure dude no one has ever had a problem on this forum.

Either way whether you subscribe or not hang around it's not a bad place to be :)

JJ

Thanks JJ. It'd be unfair to ask you to do that so I won't - and I'll stop being a DramaLlama (I work for a bank which is why I've seen the problems and am a little bit nervous). But your Paypal link in the FAQ seems broken. Is it just me?

Not sure to be honest mate I will shoot Rob a message and see if something is up although there have been a couple of subscription payments today.

JJ

Thanks JJ. I am actually interested in being a full member, if only to know whether;

a) Putting a carbon Viper on it is worthwhile if only for the lovely noise.
b) It throws wishbone bushes and then brake disks and then wishbone bushes and then br....in a negative feedback loop until you replaced both at the same time (at which point everything was fine) like my old Mondeo did.
c) How to change the cluch when I inevitably wear it out because I've driven Rover CVTs for the last 13 years.

Okay, it's more than that, but still. ;)

Yes
No
Pita but more than enough on here have done it ;-)

Lol on a serious note it's a nice place to hang out and a very good bunch of guys and girls who if they can will help out in a fix I myself have had to beg help next month to replace a shot engine and have a venue and people being offered along with transporting the engine if I am really stuck, perfect example of the type of people that make this club a place i have enjoyed being for years.
