insurance

confused.com mate, i did a check for mine this year, i have the zetec 2ltr, came in at £201 and a v6 auto came in at £217 both fully comp no mods. just depends you got mods?

Fine on the first part but there's no sense in lying about milage. Insurance policies are sold on an absolute trust basis. Any lies or "creativity" on your part can negate the contract if it suits the insurer.

ok but in my case i did actually less last year than what was quoted on the insurance, so im saying to give a figure not too over blown

Just renewed for another year with Admiral. Very reasonable quote for a V6 Cougar, they've acknoweledged my 9 years' no claims (some companies set an upper limit of 5 and then that's all they will provide proof of if you move on, effectively reducing your no claims if you had more than 5 to start with) and they don't mind a couple of minor mods (non-standard alloys and an induction kit did not raise my quote a penny, whereas Direct Line wanted an extra £500 off me and refused to even name Joanne on the policy because of these 'performance upgrades'). Their Multicar scheme is also worth a look if you've more than one motor in the household. We've got both of ours covered fully comp with guaranteed no claims on the Cougar for under £700 all in. All drivers continue to accrue their own individual no claims bonus too, which is nice.

Mines due in a few days so best I get ringing tomorrow I'm with sky and they want 750 to cover my kitty with its new engine so thanks but no thanks its just a shame most companies won't touch modded cars

The thing I love most is when they say that the best we can offer but if someone beats it then we can lower it :banghead: thieving gits

I totally agree with Alan.

For me Adrian flux blew the others out of water.

My policy has all the bells and whistles and its exactly £300.

Sky wanted 800 and Chris Knott-a-chance were 700ish

Hmmm AF this morning quoted 500 including my monster brakes when someone eventually finishes them ;)

I'm still going to try a few more so wish me luck

So sky can do one

i had to go with "octogon "who ever they are but with no mods and only 5000 miles a year 3 years no claim and 3 points for speeding it still setting me back 600 quid and i'm 40 in 2 weeks thought insurance was suppose to improve with age

The fact you live in Epsom probably doesn`t help either Paul, I used to live down that way and insurance was horrendous. Lincoln however, is a different story :)

And the roads are pretty much empty

Shall I get my coat now ?

ha join the club i'm 40 in a couple of weeks to, and have a few...mods ;) (think the points have all gone now) so far i've had quotes emailed to me from moneysupermarket.com, because I checked with them once, price range is from £640 to a wapping £9450 (£11k if I paid in instalments) .....i'll wait till Af email me because i'm sure those quotes are for standard cougars too....i'm with Adrian flux as it is.

Oh yeah the excess on the highest quote was £700....
