Had a laugh today while working on the cat, a mate called round saw the cougar stickers on the rear side windows, pointed to them and asked... is it a Jag....o_O.. (it's go no badges on to identify it as a Ford)...

should have kidded him on a bit, but thought better of it.....

had to educate him then on the Ford Cougar...(y)

As he left, he said I've never seen one of them before, I like the look of em.... may try and get him to buy one now...

then the little kid next door comes down the drive and asks, what sort of car is that, I ask why, and he says, its my 4th favorite car..... (only 4th.....)

Steve Morris and I have both had this too. People "know" it's a Jag, but don't recognise the model. Happened to me a few weeks ago.

To be fair, all my badges are US spec. "What kind of Jag is a 'Mercury Cougar'?"

I actually enjoy telling people it's an American Mondeo Coupe. "There's no such thing!" Heh. Yes there is.

Everyone thinks I drive a sodding Puma. Wouldn't mind if they had said Jag or Alfa

They're not even sisters; more like cousins at best.

Puma is the petite girl that did gymnastics at school. The boys liked her because she looked good in a leotard.

Cougar us the girl that we liked because she could fill her bra.

Essex, you need to step your game up.

I believe our own Wil Leaper got out of a parking ticket as the traffic warden had put his car down as a Jag.(y)

if that's true then that's brilliant....we could park anywhere if we have no sign of it being a Ford, then when the yellow perils pounce with the ticket filled in as a jag..... just take the ticket and thank them..... then when the summons comes through.... it can't have been me your honour, I don't own a Jag......

Matt is correct, as far as I remember.

For my part, I work on a government site and frequently get the Full Treatment. Belly mirrors and all that. To be fair, they don't know what Tiger is so at least they ask. It goes like this:

"Okay, so this is a...?"
"Ford Cougar."
"Don't have that as an option mate."
"Okay, go for Mercury Cougar."
"Don't have that either."
"Seriously? This is *redacted* where cars come from everywhere and... You've never seen one of these?"
"N...no."
"Just put it down as a Mondeo, mate."

Next time I get done by the same guy, he's like, "Ah! Your Mondeo Coupe!"

I can see you getting some stick for that post.

i think pauls trying to wind me up:geek:

yes but the engine also blew up better ,burnt far more oil when it got old. and i wont even go down the how's it's handling road..but i'll give you the bit about modding(y)

hmm dont see any nowdays ether...i wonder why:LOL:

I think so for sure. It was another big coupe that did not sell very well. I would say at that time it was a good looking car though, quite unusual and different. I actually liked it back in the day. I had a mate who had the Red Top 4x4 Turbo engine version, it was fast.
