Ok thought I would share these pics of an install we did for a guy who drove from Scotland (5 1/2 hours) left his car for a month and collects it tomorrow.

Wanted install to look as oem/subtle as possible.

Kit list

AMPS

JL Audio Amp for tweeters
Hertz EP4 for mid woofers in doors
Orion D2400 for sub

AudioControl 24 (active crossover)

Speakers
Focal mids
focal tweeters
FI BL 10" sub

Headunit

JVC double din media centre.

The job was big everything running active so Wires needed running into the doors for tweeters and mids, doors deadened, 0 AWG running front to distribution block in the glove box (behind passenger seat). Dash had to be removed to install headunit and as the car had the "upgraded" BOSE system installed wiring had to be done from scratch too, headache doesn't even come close! a full day was taken just to wire the car with nothing else getting done.

Ok pics

AMPS!!!!! Headache all three amps had to be mounted in a glove box so I had to get creative you will see how close I was for space in the final shots of them in situ we are talking 1/2" clearance.

Finally where the amps/fuses/audiocontrol all hide!! nothing on show but all accessible if needed by popping off the cover to get to amps or lifting the lid in the glovebox to get to fuses.

Impressive stuff guys, looks like on hell of a system (y)

Did you take the 350z for a spin by any chance?? :geek:

Customer was cool about the car actually and said to use it save it being stood for so long have to say it is a nice cruiser (being auto) but not sure if it is down to the suspension being lowered but it is no where near as stable as my cougar gets unsettled very easily not sure how it compares to a standard set up one.

Plenty of poke.

Mofo and myself saw this at the wireing stage I can't tell you how heavy that sub was all top quality kit I just wish I could have heard it your a bad influence Jase I'm stating to feel the audio bug biting again after 10 years laying dormant.

Gotta say that compared to some cars, it wasn't that bad to work on, good access to most parts and everything was bolt on/off. The doors don't have a crappy sponge foil like ours but a whole metal panel that again bolts on and off making it so easy to get inside the doors. Not the greatest car for adding to in terms of the wiring but it made for a tidied job for us to start from scratch so that everything we installed ran totally independent to the OEM looms so's to not interfere with the cars equipment at all. Also if it needed to be removed, there'd be almost no trace, if any, of additional wiring being fitted and removed.

Oh and Mark, it never really went away :)

Well hang fire on buying anything yet dude if that Ebay sale doesn't pan out as I owe you big time and can sort something out for you.
Wait till you hear Tango next going to be EVIL

It sounds very sweet, warm to listen too very very pleasant sounding not tiring at all, lacking sligthly in volume to my ears but thats due to mine being so loud a front end I have twice the speakers in the front end and 6 times the power.

Lovely every day sound system tbh I could do miles in the thing without it getting tiring or boring to listen too and the sub hits hard for what it is.

I should add I would love to see s omeone nick a stereo out of one of these they are BOLTED into the dash and you have to remove the whole centre of the dash to get head unit out!.

JJ

Well you know how S***e mine sounds at the moment the kit I've got should sound better than that so I'm looking for a decent head unit I just couldn't insult that M50 by plugging my head unit into it.

Do it Mark you won't regret it (y)
Certainly look good lads, see what you mean though, not much room to work in, bet mine was like that when I had my kit fitted :geek: couldn't he gone for two amps to save some space? Active is the way to go I know, that Audio-Control kit is top notch (I've been after the digital version for ages DEQ)

Is that JVC head unit the one were you can remove the front pannel?
