Hi all,
I just swapped my 03 plate 2.2 Vectra for a w reg v6 Cougar only three days ago not even knowing much about them, as soon as i saw it/ heard it I knew it must be mine!
I was looking for something with a smaller engine than the 2.2 vectra but the 2.5 v6 rumble is something I love and intent to keep as long as i can afford to!
I will be using it as my everyday car so I would appreciate any comments as to how reliable these are, I have heard they are pretty bombproof, anyting I need to keep an eye on and tips to keep this lovely machine running well??
Cheers

yup - fully synthetic is recommended.
worth keeping an eye on Halfords as they often have 4L of Magnatex on offer for £17.50!

Thanks, will keep an eye out for that oil offer! Cheap for Magnatec!!!
My central locking doesnt seem to lock using the key remote, it will lock then unlock again straight away, is this a common fault? It locks ok using the key directly in the door lock!

If it's unlocking straight away then you may have a door lock not aligning properly or a lock is siezed? or one or the motors is siezed?? I had the same problem, and i needed to adjust the passenger door a few mm then it worked fine...
Anyway welcome mate.. good choice in car.. (y)

Hello and welcome aboard mate, sounds like a good move. If you pay your subs you'll have access to the biggest on-line Cougar manual right here on this forum, as Ford never produced one or at least Haynes never did. Get some pic's up of your coug for us to look at :)
