As a new member and owner of a cat i have been very interested in the mods that some members have made .In particular the transformation the "Headlight and Tail light" covers make to the cars, where can i get a set of these from ?

not many on the ebay these days, starting to get a bit rare, best drop jj a pm or scunny cougar bobster or pid16 . also look at racebits they are on our club list.
plus put an add in the wanted section!

most of boys are at a mini meet today, keep checking in until you hear anything

I've recently sprayed my rear lights as I prefer the look to the covers, and its cheeper to! Here's mine....

Thanks for the info ,i think i will also go ahead with my original idea of spraying the lenses myself now i have seen the results close up

Strickly speaking my lenses are illegal due to spraying over the reflectors, saying that, many on here have passed mot's with covers on or sprayed units. I'm planning on adding reflectors to the rear bumper when I come across some I like.

When spraying your rear lights use some 3mm masking tape to get the curve right around the 'boobs' and then mask the rest off as normal, I got the thin masking tape from eBay....delivered for about 2 squid

that a really good job ,Did you go with as close to frosty or did you get the paint mixed for you ? I've look'd for frosty paint but can't find any also did you lacquer over the boob's as well ?

The frosty paint was mixed for me at my local motor factors, it wasn't cheap though at £15 per tin! But its a great match!

First off I filled the little dimple above the large boob, then flatted the whole unit with 1200 wet and dry, masked off with 3mm tape to get a consistent curve, and the remaining area with ordinary masking tape. A few coats of white primer, flatted that, then about 4-5 coats of frosty...flatted that, then unmasked the unit and put about 5 coats of laquer across the whole unit, I haven't flatted the laquer yet as I haven't had time but will get round to it soon :) hope this info is of some help fellas :)

Painting is best I did it years ago likely one of the first iirc much cleaner look than covers as most sit proud although Johns (everton) covers I noticed today on the 4x4 zetec sit really close and look damn good.
