Don't worry about where you are mate, just sort a day or weekend out and say what you need doing, make sure theres plenty of bacon and people will turn up ;)

i really need to try and get my gear linkage/cable sorted. it's getting to the point where it's difficult to get it in 1st, as the gearlever hits the ashtray, and moves back and forth about 4 inches in each gear.
and find out, at least, why it 'kangaroos' when changing gear, or pulling off after a junction, in say 2nd or 3rd.

over than that, life is peachy!!!

As per your "Runs like a pig" thread. I guarantee that if you ask - decide what you need done and set a date which doesn't coincide with a major show - you will get volunteers.

No member is so far that they won't get someone with knowledge (and the willingness to get dirty) turn up. And just because you're new, doesn't mean we won't help; we're ambassadors for a very small nation, we're proud of what we do, and we look after these old ladies as long as their owners look after us. Coffee, white no sugar thanks.

You're welcome here. Kick your shoes off and make yourself at home.

The cable ends are on ebay. Im sure somebody else bought one a while back.

wow.
that's very gracious.
as it is, i may have to take someone up on that offer.
as can't do the work myself (have complications from back surgery).

It's what we do mate. When I joined here four years ago I was an enthusiastic owner with a basic knowledge of how a car worked.
Now I'm pretty much the same:LOL:, but I've done plenty of spannering in the meantime and enjoyed it. We get together, eat bacon, and stuff gets fixed. Simples(y)

As it did last weekend lol

That was great fun as usual (and excellent timing with the weather!) but I have to admit I'm looking forward to the next multi-day one, where on the Sunday I get sent under with a 13mm socket to re-connect a Y-pipe while suffering from a 5-alarm hangover.

Those are just the best.
