Hi all..
I lost my Ford 6000CD radio code (long story) and needed to re-enter it after the battery had been disconnected.. so I went online to find a local place that unlocks radios etc.. (expect to pay anything from a tenner upwards)
However, I stumbled on a site that gives you your radio's code for free! All you have to do is register with them then type in the serial number of your radio. You will need the remove the unit to get the number (but dont buy the removal clips from Halfords, at £6.50, go to a local car spares place.. I paid £1.90 for them)
Access the site and type in your serial number and within 30 seconds your code is displayed.. IT WORKS! and for nothing too! :)

Hope this is of some help to someone

On a second note.. whats the point of car radios having a bloody code if all a thief needs to do is go online (after nicking it) and then accessing the website? crazy..

What's the point of locks when all a thief needs is a brick to put the window through

I've had a few fords over the years and I've used the same radio removal tools on each one - a set of metal BBQ kebab skewers. They fit perfectly in the holes, you then just push them outwards slighly and pull. No need for fancy tools ;)

Also there is a little program you can download to decode the codes for you - think there is a link on here somewhere for it

You still here hyabusabart? Thanked for the information - it worked and got me out of a hole.

Anyway, I didn't have the removal tools so used a wire hanger cut into C shapes. Took me about ten minutes of fiddling, since I'm no scally.

Just to wind up Scunny ;) , I dyked off the ramps/clips once I got the thing out so I don't have to faff about again - I can just pull it.

EDIT:: Something odd seems to have happened with poster names.

Sure, but that would have meant imposing on someone's goodwill and hoping they replied tonight.

I know that maybe you wouldn't have minded, but I don't like asking people to do something I should make the effort to do myself.

post wasn't meant to sound cheeky but a certain person used to offer this service when asked nicely as he already had the means to generate the correct codes, and your correct i dont mind asking for someones help same as i dont mind people asking for my help which i have and others on here have done on many occasions

Oh! I see what you mean now - I didn't know that before, and didn't know where to start. You didn't sound cheeky at all though.
