Was a bit bored today so decided to repaint my calipers and rusty parts of my wheel hub, anyway got them done and then noticed the edge of the wheel was looking a bit rough so went a bit mad with the paint- now comes the marmite bit im not sure whether i like it or not,yes i like it but not sure if original looks better or not sure if it goes with the classic look of the car----- so i am asking your honest opinions (it started to rain so i have only done the one wheel so far)
Anyway heres the pics so make up your own minds:-

Being honest, I kinda like it. If you look at the pic of the rear wheel and then the front wheel, it's as if it's a variant on finish. The red band doesn't look out of place at all but not sure whether it goes with the side profile of the car. Definitely matches the caliper lol and accents that well but the original finish goes with the window trim etc.

Genuinely not decided either way. Was discussing radical rims on black Cougars at the weekend and if you're going to do it, you've gotta just do it lol.

I like it, I have done the same on my car but using tape. The only issue with it is you will forever be touching it up and when you need new tyres then you will have to do it all again.

you can buy an alloy gator thats coloured , deflate the tyre , pop it on round the rim , inflate !! that way , no touching up , and protects you against kerbing ! thumbs up from me by the way :)

Absolutely loving the rims. Very individual, neatly done and accent the calipers nicely. They also contrast well with the body.

But I'm not a fan of red brakes generally, because it always screams to me "I wish these were Brembos". Personally I would have done them black, but then that's what personal taste is all about.

Even with my own reservations, thumbs-up from me.

Interesting mate, i'd thought of something similar to rejuvinate my wheels* (although I also thought about taking them off and throwing them away ) its something different and thats what we like.

*I was thinking of painting the insides of the wheels though

I actually like it a lot and I think it gives the car some contrast - I would have done similar if I'd had your alloys, not sure the red would go with mine. But definitely liking it.

Each to their own, but I really don't like it. My personal feeling is that the black/chrome/polished alloy combination has an air of sophistication, which the red calipers and rim stripe then detract from.
