I am a member of a local car club, it is mainly american mussle cars but they let me in becasue of my front grill badge lol !!!

The green one is a Firebird 4th Gen 3.8 Litre V6

The Black one is a Trans-Am 2nd Gen GTA 5.7 Litre V8 ( Knight rider car ). This car is seriously fast in a straight line and would destroy any Scooby or EVO out there but no good in the twisty stuff lol !!!

I will try to get pics of the other cars within this club as there are a few good ones but they were not there this week.

Very nice Pete, lovin that American Muscle - always wanted a Knight Rider Trans-Am.....Droooooooool lol

Yeah they do have some really nice cars between them but there are a few that are quite bad as well due to the age of them. That GTA is a very nice car and stupid fast as well.
I do feel like a dork though when I park my car next to them all as it is just not in the same league in the engine department at all. I think I got the smallest engine in the club lol !!!

Maybe that old Supra that Fensport had that did sub 10' quarters might have a challenger then?

These cars aren't slow but when you put them against the Jap stuff they can't compete, seeing that Skyline at Santa Pod where the chassis was twisting visibly while it was trying to get the power down showed just how awesome their cars are.

None of these cars are stock, they have all had things done to the engines. The GTA is an animal tbh and I have never seen anything so fast in a straight line, it is crazy but yes, in the bends it is no good but most mussle cars are no good unless you are going straight. You also got to remember the age of these machines, some of them are 40 years old now and would still blow away a souless Jap box without any problems.

It is just nice to see some of these cars still out there and still running, something different to all the usual stuff on the roads.

soul less Jap box??? I love Japanese styling. Its aggressive and has the power to match. Coupled with the Japs reputation for excellent engineering and doing things with cars that most other countries wouldn't even attempt..

The trans am looks like its made out of lego and the firebird's nose looks like a giant green butt plug. You couldn't make any more a minging car if you tried. That's the problem with US cars.. styled out of straight lines with a sledgehammer.

Yes I do agree the styling is not what you would expect today but there is nothing better than a big V8 with loads of power and noise to match it. You have got to remember these cars were built back when most Jap cars were not even born then. It is just good to see something different for a change. I like them, they have got a soul and a history.

Cheers Jase, my point is you just don't see these cars everyday on our roads, Scooby's and EVO's are everywhere and they will never turn heads like an old mussle car will, and the Black GTA knightrider car would always grab someones attention due to not that many being over here in the first place + the sound of the thing.

You could almost describe the cougar in exactly the same way.

They are classics from a certain age and you have to respect the fact that they cannot compete with many modern cars for roadholding. Fun when going straight though!!!

Yes they are, I also said right in the begining that these cars can not hold the road at all but in a straight line they are very very quick. You got to remember, all the power with these cars is straight from the engine, not via a turbo or supercharger. It is just nice to see them still rolling on our roads and keeping up with most that is out there today.
