My car is due it's MOT on 14th September, so, I stuck it in early just in case it needs any work doing. Had a couple of advisories last year regarding Front to Rear N/S brake pipe with slight corrosion and Front N/S brake pipe with slight corrosion. I totally forgot all about it and have not cleaned or greased them. Hopefully it will come back with the same advisories.

hope all goes well.....:)

Ditto. Sure it'll be fine though. I've never worked on that car myself so I don't know it, but rumour has it that it's well-maintained.

Funny things, brake lines. I've seen a couple examples that were clear failures - rotted almost all the way through - but most of the advisories I've ever seen are the end result of an abundance of caution. Preventative maintenance.

Which is understandable of course.

Last year my regular tester put an advisory on my rears, ("Just rub some grease on them and they'll be fine.") which I dealt with when y'all came over and did Tiger's rear end tear-down. 2500-grit glass paper and Bilt-Hamber underseal. This year my tester passed them without comment other than "You boys have done some great work under here."

It's a fine line, it seems.

Cheers guys. Good news, she passed with flying colours. No mention of slightly corroded anything just an advisory that there is very slight play in rack ends.

congrats mate, mot's are funny things...how rust can cure itself like that eh:oops:
mine's goin in on tuesday:( wish me luck..

The rack ends are not a problem to change. Well done on the MOT pass

Yep, really easy to change, and adjustment is just a usual tracking job at the nearest place that has a laser.

That's assuming of course that the track rod ends actually need replacing at all.
