Well first of all wash and rinse with a cloth/warm soapy water. Then dry, and then in my case I used a big wad of cotton wool and some rubbing compound and working very hard and as fast as I could, rubbed down as much as i could. Then I applied some sealer gloss with cotton some cotton pads (don't tell the missus) before then applying the same wax as on the bodywork.......then wiping off.
In a complete turn around, the cat is now no longer for sale.
I had to pay Ford 6 hrs labour plus a new piece of wiring loom to rectify the problem of the car not starting. This wiped out quite a big portion of the savings we had to put towards the MPV.
I still have the problem with the high beam blowing a fuse. I disconnected the HIDS and it still blows so i know it's nothing to do with them, so I think a wire has chafed somewhere and is grounding out, hence the fuse popping when I apply high beam. That will be looked at on Thursday i hope as I am looking after my daughter every other day.
Not only that, but the car decided to say thank you to me for all the hard work spent on it recently by dieing on my other half and leaving her stranded.
Cause is yet to be determined but my money is on a knackered alternator !!! yippeee...we all know how much fun they are to replace. Getting a bit PO'd with the Cat now, but underneath, especialy now as she looks so good, I am quite happy she is staying.
In a fit of madness I even bought some new leather to recover the headliner to make all the silver work inside stand out a bit more, as well as some cougar logos for the wheel centre caps........I think i have started down the slippery road again.......rear lights will be painted hopefully this week too.....sigh.......
