6000 miles , hasnt even settled in yet, lol, welcome to the forum bud, you will find all the info you need right here, (y)

6000 miles ? surely must be the lowest mileage cougar on here
your insurance might be rather high though if you have only just passed your test

If you only recently passed your test I'm assuming you're under 20?
If so, you may have problems insuring the V6, if you find someone to do it you'll need most of that 8 grand!!

Welcome to the club though

If not the lowest mileage Cougar in the UK! I implore you to look after this car, and if you should ever tire of it then sell it to a true enthusiast who will cherish it.

Be careful with that mate, the insurance companies are clamping down on that sort of thing now, If you are down as a named driver and they find you are actually the main driver your insurance becomes void.

Welcome to Cougar ownership though, your in the right place to find out all about your car, get some piccies up (y)

6K.............., that's almost brand new, what a fantastic start to your motoring Andrew, you're a v-e-r-y lucky guy! Just go easy until you get used to the handling & be on your guard against the 'boy racers' mate, welcome to the wonderful world of UKCougar.com.(y)

Well, all I can say is that you had a great Uncle...to be left an almost brand new Coug...one just dreams of such a thing. Like the others have said - look after it, which I'm sure you will. As Paul (Procomm) has said just be careful with the insurance, make sure your dad drives it around too, make it look like you just "borrow" it from time to time...nudge, nudge, wink, wink...that way you'll stay on the right side of the law...not that any of us would condone such illegal actions.....lol Look foward to seeing some pic's. BTW...Welcome aboard!! lol

So are the police - people are now starting to try and prove that people are driving without the requisit insurance - i.e people claiming they are an occasional driver when in fact they are the main driver.

Welcome to the club bud - 6k eh? Wow.

Sorry to hear of your family's loss by the way

Thank you everyone! yeah he's a kind man, wish he was still here tho
Will get the pics up soon! the car is still in his garage at the moment, its
safer there for the time being because I live in Liverpool and i dont want anythink
to happen to it!! will sort out pics soon.

Cheers

Hi Andrew,
Welcome to the club.
Sorry to hear of your families loss.
Good news with the Cougar though, it sounds like a real gem.
Does the car still smell new inside?
I helped an X partner buy her Escort 1.6SI a few years back on a 96 P plate. It only had 27k on the clock and inside it was gleaming and smelt like a new car still.
I was 20 when I passed my Test. I reckon you might be ok on the insurance.
If you do low annual mileage that'll certainly help.
Getting it in your own name will certainly help with your NCB.

Hello and welcome to the club. Sorry to hear about your loss. It's a strang feeling accepting something left to you by someone who's passed away. I thought so at least!

You must have one of the lowest milage examples in the world, so take very good care of her! I'd also be tempted to advise against non-reversible modifications too because such a low milage car will be worth far more in the future in original condition. Insurance will probably dictate that you don't change it very much though.

Congratulations on a great car. Possibly not an ideal first car, but that's from someone looking back in retrospect. I'd have loved one as a first car (but they came out the year I passed my test!).

Welcome to the club mate, cougar sounds nice! Were about are you in the pool? I might see you on the road when you get up and running.
Cheer's,
Dave.

Welcome to the club mate

First things I would suggest for a car thats been standing for so long is give it a full detailed going over and a decent service.

Just start her up and let her tick over for a while to warm up before you drive it as well to let everything settle down and sort itself out and listen for any tell tale noises as belts etc will deteriorate over time. Also pay close attention to your discs, pads and ABS rings as they may be rusted to bits
