Well was a long and eventful day Saturday. Started with a 110 mile drive down to west sussex, got caught in loads of traffic on the way down due to the Olympics and also wsb at brands hatch. The day improved from there though, as I had gone down to look at a new car.

Had a good look over the car and took out for a test drive too. Started from cold (was still inside showroom when I got there) with no smoke, rattles or knocks. Idled for a good ten minutes outside whilst I went over the car thoroughly. Warmed up to temp, and nothing untoward with the running, its was smooth and quiet and the idle was consistent. Whilst out on the test drive I made sure all controls etc were working and that the gearbox, clutch and brakes were ok. Floored it in second and third, it boosted smoothly and was a joy to drive, so when I got back, I made up my mind and put down a deposit on it. Should hopefully be picking it up in the next two to three weeks. They are giving it 12 months MOT, 6 months tax, a full service, 3 months warranty and putting fuel in it to get me home. A cracking deal for the price I'm paying. It also comes with full service history, all old MOT's and two spare alarm fobs in a big folder. It even still had the original bags for putting the targa panels in once they have been removed from the car.

Now I bet you are all wondering what it is as I've not mentioned it yet.......

Well, to put your minds at rest, I've been out and brought a 1993 Uk model Nissan 300ZX targa top twin turbo manual, in black. I haven't got any plans for the car other than to limo tint the rear windows and enjoy driving and owning it.

Mods on the car that I'm aware of:

Half leather/half alcantara interior retrim
Racelogic traction/launch control
Mongoose catback stainless steel exhaust system
Greddy management system
Uprated 555 injectors
Injen hard pipes for turbos/intercoolers etc
Injen induction kit
One piece lightweight prop
Uprated clutch/flywheel
Greddy front bumper
17" alloy wheels fitted with 235/45-17 fronts and 245/45-17 rears (all matching tyres) - not sure what alloys they are though
Interior lighting to blue
Visual performance white dial kit
99 spec rear lights.

It is running approx 350bhp :)

Ive only got the advert pics at the min, but they give a great deal of detail so here they are.

May I ask what kind of ball park that set you back Colin?

Yeah that's not a prob Si. I paid a little under £4,500 for it. Full documented service history with receipts for everything right down to wiperblades/bulbs etc, every old MOT certificate from new along with every old tax disc from new. even had the original bill of sale with it. Brought from a dealer and got 12 months MOT, 6 months tax, 3 months warranty, a full service and a tank of fuel all included in the price.

Well not been on here for a while so thought I'd give you all an update although its not a good one:

Coming home the other friday, it was running a little rough so was taking a steady drive home just to get it back in one piece (was doing around 45-50 on a major A road). As I took the last slip road it started to loose a little power but then picked up again. Got to the roundabout, put clutch in and it stalled so coasted it over the roundabout with no power steering or anything and once off the roundabout, dumped the clutch in 2nd to try and get it to fire up again, which it did briefly before rattling itself to a halt with a big bang spewing all its oil and water over the floor.

Got it recovered home via the AA and two recovery trucks (they couldnt get it on the first one or they would have ripped the front end off). Had a mechanic look over it and been told its bottom end crank shaft bearings i think it was and Ive cracked the block, only real option is a new lump and they are over £1200 for a decent one without the swap itself, so looks like the zed is no more. (It's sitting on my drive at min until I decide what to do with it, but will prob just end up selling for spares/repairs).

On to today then, I'm shortly going off to kent to pick up another car which parents have kindly purchased for me. Its a more sensible car this time to an extent. Sensible in the fact it is a 5 seat estate car, not so when I say its a 250bhp 2.0 Turbo lol

hope your new ride is going to better
