New camera - advice

I like the Nikon stuff myself, I know that it's a little late but I read camera magazines' reviews and found 'What digital camera' magazine helpful, at the back is an area where they show their ratings of camera's and lenses so it's handy to read if you want to add to your lenses. Jessops had offers on the outgoing Nikon D3100 model with 18-55mm kit lens and a 55-200mm zoom which was £428.95 or £368.95 after cashback, I was tempted to buy it for Ria at Christmas. I recommend reading a magazine called Digital SLR, it's not as poncy as some of the other magazines who all believe we should be experts and forget that they had to learn once, the magazine is not as expensive as the others either and weighs in even cheaper if you subscribe.

Good luck with your purchase.

It 's the lenses that gets you in the end, the difference a good lens makes to a camera is amazing. My wife is well into photography, we have all the get up here, studio setting, strobe lighting etc, but the biggest difference has always been a good lens, and they cost!
