New cougar owner, but one with a new problems also

The problems with the fog light and flash light have been sorted.
The mechanic contacted the company he bought the alternator from.
I found out they are specialized in alternators, batteries and everything that has to do with electronics for cars. He got me an appointment and tomorrow I'll drop my car of with them and they are going to check everything.
Good thing about the mega fuse I already forgot about that one, I'll tell them tomorrow if they didn't know about it

I got my car back, they checked my car for wiring, but they found out it was a bad alternator. installed a new new one, and its purring like a kitten.:music:

Stopped by to grab something but if the 'alternator' fuse has blown has blown I'd say this is either excitation wiring worn through or a unit issue.

If that fuse has popped, which would almost-never be a 'transient' fault, needs diagnosis and investigation.

Pinched wiring would be the snap diagnosis unless the alternator proves it has a excitation-earth short internally.

*Shoulda read page 3!*

Happy New Year,
Andy

Glad to hear your alternator is sorted and your cat is back on the road.
And a belated "welcome to the club"

What's an alternator? will it give me more power?

Something you use to weigh down Yellow Pages mate. I've read about them on tinterwebs. They're called alternators because you can alternate the copies of Yellow Pages you put under them. Also good for coffee tables as above [emoji6][emoji1417]

Be careful you don't scratch the coffee table though:eek:(y)

Oh Sorry, I googled an image of an alternator and thought it was a new electric assisted turbo type thing.....

Like a turbo with a small Bosch pump and a wired in PI regulator, just wasn't sure where you adjusted Q-min, the Initial current and the Final current...

Think I'll just get back to the coffee table.....

Damn it, forgot to close my eyes

Dude got a tattoo of a turbo. Sadly, the artist - and it is good work to be fair - didn't know the difference between a turbo and an alternator...

Also: Great to see you, Trufflehound. You were there when I needed you, and you saved Tiger. Years later she needs some more work - in a corner you didn't work on - but I'll never forget. Peace out.
