Hello ladies and gents! I'm Dan, 20 Years old, from Melksham in Wiltshire.

Finally picking up a Cougar on Friday, a Silver 99 Reg 2L Zetec with 89K On the clock and a few bodywork issues :)

I've wanted a Cougar since i started driving, My dad has had a 2.5 V6 with the x-pack etc for 4 years now and i loved being in it/driving it for a week when i passed :D

I've had a few Fords and a few other cars before :) In short my car history:

1994 Ford Escort Mk5b - Terrible slow heap of crap but it was my first car so i loved it :D

1993 Mk3 Astra - Again a heap, but served me well without breaking down :)

1993 Honda Civic EG3 - LOVED this car, but paying £250 a Month for insurance because it was an import sucked :(

1989 Volvo 340 - Again a brilliant car, It was MINT. 36K Miles in 22 Years and absoloutley spotless, and nobody my age had one, Cool car, Sold because i saw a car i wanted :D

1989 MK4 Escort Bonus - 1.6 Race tuned Xr3 Engine fitted, was a great laugh but so unreliable it had to go, i was fed up of working on it 24/7.

Current car until tommorow is my 1995 Ford Escort Mexico Mk6 - 1.6 Zetec, slightly modified, Great fun little car, i'm P/x'ing this for the Cougar tommorow :)

Also a big fan of forums, been on forums for every car ive owned, they're a great source of knowledge and a lot of the time there's some really decent people on em!

I'll post some pics etc up when i pick up my Cat tommorow and i hope to be more Active on here :)

Sorry for the long intro haha!

Hello and welcome chap, good choice in car, in am sure you will find all you need to know on the forum, and once subscribed it opens up a world of information as this is the only real manual for the big cat.. also there a mighty fine bunch of guys on here, if not a little bit mental.. ;)

Welcome Dan, a young whipper snapper of a Cougar owner :)

Ive been putting up with Escorts until now, i can actually insure a Cougar, shame its only a 2L! I'll have a V6 One day :D

I will hopefully subscribe next month when im paid and once ive got the cat home and start doing work on it :)

Hello Dan and welcome to the forum. Nice to see another member fairly local to me. If you get the chance to subscribe earlier you would be more than welcome to join us for the Castle Combe meet towards the end of April.

I may be subscrbed by then and may attend at Combe if i can get the 8'th off of Work :D

Where are you from if you dont mind me asking? I've seen a few cougars around here, A frosty in Corsham had a sticker on advertising the site :)

Hello and welcome aboard Dan. Where are you picking this Cougar up from? I mean is it a dealer or a private sale? What type of body work needs doing to her?

Dan, Castle Combe is on the 28th April but if you want to attend as part of the club you need to be subscribed by the 10th of March so I can finalise ticket nos. It usually works out at about £5.00/head as oppose to £10.00/head on the day. (All details are in the linked thread which you should be able to access.)
I'm in Badminton, S.Glos. but my other half has relations in Melksham so know it quite well. There were a couple from Corsham who were members of the forum, they had a Blurple and a Frosty but haven't been active on here for 18 months or so.

Picked it up from Plymouth earlier :)

150 Mile drive back and i loved it, what a car :D Even had a slight hoon with a Focus ST which was a good laugh :)

And as for what needs doing bodywork wise, i need a silver front bumper, and the rear quarts on both sides are *****. Mechanically sound though i hope :)

Quick snap while taking a tactical **** on the way back :)

Hi Mate - big car history for such a youngster

Hah, cheers fella.

Yeah i have a short attention span for cars usually :) I love my fords though and wanted a cougar since i was like 15 as my dad had one, finally got one, and im fairly sure it wont be my only Cougar so ill be around for a while :D

Welcome to the madhouse Dan. :)

I had two of these, a 1.4 and a 1.7. A vastly underrated car - RWD, independant rear suspension and rear mounted gearbox to help with the weight distribution. Loads of fun.
