cougar melina bliue.jpgHi new owner bought my melina blue cougar 2001 v6 a couple of weeks ago bargain £280 6 months MOT and full service history could not believe it had to put a set of tyres on (budget ones for now) but what a underated car this is did a 350 mile day out to the lakes last week drove nearly faultless slight missfire on acceleration and the front brakes when driving slow feels like ABS comes on when you brake getting some new discs and pads just to see if they are warped or another fault? and the headlights are shocking pointing at the floor one motor for adjuster kept running so disconnected that for now is there a good upgrade for the lights anyone will be getting new motors for adjusters all fairly cheap as its mainly mondeo and a few little scabby patches but nothing major but for the money what do i expect and a small hole in front bumper so if any one has a melina blue bumper kicking about and localish ?and as an ex TVR tasmin 280 owner the cougar is a hell of alot more reliable and just as quick for an old man like me
will upload a pic when i work out how to do it

Welcome bud. Check your brake fluid level too that made my light come on under braking. Misfire could be plugs, I have the same problem and need to check the gaps. They only seem to like Ford OEM plugs though.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Sounds like you've got a bargain there and everything you could wish to know about Cougars is right here. (y)

Looks very tidy, with C2 alloys.

I've got a spare headlamp levelling motor you can have for the cost of the postage.

As for improving the headlamps, fitting either HID's or C2 units are the more common options.
