Hi everyone, my name is Keith I'm a retired machine tool fitter from Tamworth staffs.
I have just purchased a 1999 Cougar, very good condition with full service history.
Only problems i've found so far is a sticking rear brake, the radio (700rds) works great but blank screen. I have also found a bit of damp on the floor well, N/S rear.
The engine is sweet and runs very well. Very pleased with the car overall, looking forward to a good run in it.
I also own a Hyundai Santa Fe which I have passed on to my son, so the Cougar is flying machine after a 2 litre diesel, hope its as reliable!
Looking forward to scanning the forum, looks great. :)

Welcome to the club, Keith. Is your Cougar a V6 or a Zetec and which colour did you go for? Do you have any pictures to post up?

Hi Keith and welcome to ukcougar.com. If you want to take it for a good run there are a few of us getting together on Sunday at Durham Services on the A1M at around 1.00pm, I am sure you will be made more than welcome.

Hi Keith, and welcome to ukcougar.com, your in the right place for all things cougar related, as well as some crazy banter. You will also be able to find all the fixes you need in our subscriber sections. Have a browse around the open forums and get a feel for the place. Remember! ukcougar.com is the only workshop manual for the big cat.

Thans everyone, I have bought the car off my cousin who has just returned home to Australia, he had bought it for a run around. The car has stood around for 8 months in a field, but with a bit of love and attension she is looking pretty good. The log book hasn't arrived back from Aus yet so i am waiting for that so i can register and tax it. The MOT runs out mid March but has only done 1500miles since the last one.
the car is a V6 Duratec with manuel gearbox, silver in colour with a lot of miles on the clock but in very good condition. My cousin bought it from a gent who had lost his job and needed to get shut. He has fitted new tyres, front and rear discs and pads plus a few other jobs. I am sure i will find a few probs, but hey, I'm retired and it will give me another interest. looking forward to a good run
