Hi all, just thought I'd introduce myself, I'm Andy and I'm the proud new owner of a 2000 big cat :) I'm a complete novice when it comes to cars and anything mechanical, but having owned a Saxo VTR and a Vectra SRI previously I actually feel like I have a car worth investing some time and effort in now! Currently compiling my 'to-do' list as there are a few minor bits and pieces to be done but I've already learnt more from reading the threads in the new owners section than any other source of info I've found so far. Look forward to drawing on your collective wisdom in the coming months!

Welcome to the nuthouse :)

As many will tell you, this place is the only workshop manual for the big cat. Keep an eye on your wallet, as this place will empty it with modding ideas

So you have bought yourself a descent car at last. Enjoy.

Yep, and more through circumstance than anything! The Vectra died just before Xmas so I was looking around for something fairly cheap so as not to dent my holiday fund. Spotted a couple of Cougars on ebay, and I was sold. Waited for what appeared to be the right one to come along at the right price and very happy that I did! :) Now I just need to get my arse into gear, become a subscriber and then the first job will be to get a decent stereo into it...

Well at the moment I have what looks like a cheapish Pioneer single DIN head unit held in place by a fascia panel wedged in underneath it :giggle: not particularly good quality sound, no USB or jack inputs and worst of all, if I put my foot down too hard and the car jerks a little bit, the whole thing falls out...! So you can see why I'm keen to get that sorted as my first job...

Turn the fascia up the other way with the stereo at the bottom, stops it falling out... (y)

It's an ebony 2 litre. I will get some pics done soon, but as I'm a bit of a photographer they have to be good before I let them go public... which means keeping my car clean... it's a vicious circle! :)
