Hi guys,
just joined the forum as Iam currently working on a mk1 v6 cougar track car. Just need a few bits of advice.
Firstly just came to fit some new dimpled and grooved discs with yellow stuff pads, and unfortunately I haven't got a locking nut key and it's not a nut what I have seen on a ford before.

Secondly I have got some st200 upper and lower Manifold sorted out from ebay and also have a chance to buy some st200 exhaust Manifolds decated , would these fit straight onto the cougars exhaust system?

Any help and advice for future mods would be appreciated.

As for the locker, a photo would be good to start with.

As well as the UIM/LIM, have you got the throttle body and cable?

The exhaust manifolds will physically fit as far as I've seen, but haven't done it myself. For a track car, you might be better off with an aftermarket set with the improved Y-pipe, since the stock ones have a 120-odd degree bend from the back bank.

As above, aftermarket exhaust manifolds, y-pipe and decat are a better option than anything Ford.
Also, handling would be well served by fitting lowering springs and some good shockers, Poly bushes, uprated rear anti roll bar and strut braces.
The best performance upgrade for a track Cougar would be to get rid of some of the horrendous weight :)
 
Photo is a bit small to tell for sure but those look like Toyosports ones.
If they were early manufacture then they are good, later ones have fitting / welding issues.
 
I must say this forum is worth the £18 already! It's cheaper than buying a Haynes manual if there was one haha .

Right pretty sure I have the larger lim so iam good with that and pretty sure I require the st200 throttle cable as mine goes to the back of the engine bay straight through into the firewall. Iam also buying the Tb from a st200.
Iam I better off buying the whole baffle and air box from the st200 seller? And is there anything else I will need.

The ST200 air box has an extra feed pipe that goes through the wing and a different mounting bracket so it would be good to get the lot. The bellows are slightly different too if you can get hold of one.
