grrr, just noticed engine management light does not illuminate when ignition on!! This is usually the first thing I check when buying a car. Checked fuse wasn't removed. Engine sounds sweet, will hook up to laptop later to see whats going on.. Maybe bulb been removed? Is this easy to access ?

You have to remove the HVAC panal and dash binnacle to get at the bulbs behind the dials Allan. There is a How-To in the relevant section.
