hi everyone.
In 2000 my husband and i were fortunate enough to purchase a melina blue 2.0l that was 3 months old. what a fantastic car. We owned it for about 6 months but due to us getting pregnant it had to go. So here we are 11 years and many 'normal' cars later and i now own another T reg. This is a V6 in silver not leather showing 65k with history. Its nice to be back. I will post photos when i can. The cat seems to be in need of some TLC but nothing serious. i have a central locking fault and have read some threads covering this but if anyone has any different ideas i would appreciate any info. Nothing from the remote key. Door locks ok with key but only that door and it will not double lock or set alarm. boot release button will not open boot but key fine. F24/F25 fuse ok. Solonoid issue. Not sure what to check. Thanks.
Sam.

Welcome to UKC Sam, be careful - there are a lot of weirdos on here

Regarding the boot release - is there any noise at all from the solenoid when you press the release button? If not, first check it is connected (you need to remove the plastic scuff plate panel that surrounds the boot catch - only a few screws). If it needs replacing, get one from a scrappy/ebay - the same as the Mk2 Mondeo if I remember correctly. As for the other points, I'll leave them for someone more knowledgeable

Hi, thanks for the reply, no there is no noise or anything when i press the button. Forgot to mention the fuel filler flap is never locked, could that be the fault or is that also down to the central locking?
Thanks
Sam
And as for weirdos, i married one.

Welcome aboard Sam, hope you enjoy your stay with us. In regards to the problem with the locks....errr..call me stupid, but have you tried changing the battery on the fob? as sounds as though possibly battery has failed???? I might be wrong, but good place to start and a cheap one to that too.

That was what I was thinking, always start with the cheapest option.

hi, thank you all for your kind welcome messages. Yes i changed the battery first. what concerns me most is the fact the cat will not lock both doors or double lock or lock the fuel cap using the key in the lock. Checked all fuses and they all ok. Its got auto electrician written all over it. And its due its MOT next month. Fingers crossed. thanks again for the kind welcome. its a pleasure to be here.
Sam.
