Hi guys

Picked up a blue 99 T plate V6 yesterday at auction.... ( assume X pack, given leather, cd changers)but no extras/mods) as looking for a new plaything ( had old Jags and MG's in past). Got a sensible car already, and a Jeep GC as a my current plaything/ 2nd car, so will wait until end of month to swap the insurance , new tax - itching to give it a good blow out.

Mended the bonnet catch today.

Loads of dints,( a few bigger dents, and half of a car park of other cars' paint - so needs some TLC, but seems like a smooth engine (105K), although service history to 70K

Need to sort out radio code ( working at present) and keys ( just got the single 3 button remote key- I know its a issue , having had Mondeo in past)

Hope you enjoy it!

Radio code is easy to sort you just need the serial number of the unit (starts with an M) radio keys are less than £1 on ebay, or I use Kebab Skewers.

Worth subscribing to the full forum as there is a wealth of info that will help you fix any probs

Welcome to the madhouse Colin. :)

There's a few members on here that have the software to find your radio code but I think you'll need to susbcribe before they'll sort you out.
Haynes never produced a manual for the Cougar but the subscriber areas more than make up for that. Well worth the subscription fee.
Hope you get your cat up to a decent condition soon.

Regardless of condition, you need to post up some pics. (y)

cheers chaps ( chap... someone been googling or am I over analysing ) , yeah, I have the software already, and currently radio is working - but I know its a job to do ( good idea about the skewers!)

really surprised that given all the paperwork with the car, that radio code and the key T code was not included, more p!ssed that I bet there were more keys and they are lost at dealer or auction house.

for various reasons my cougar only gets on the road tomorrow (was awaiting tax and insurance ) .. sooo looking forward to a giving it a nice run.

Rubbed out lots of the paint scrathes, got the radio out and obatined the code ( better now than later).. go the program if anyone needs the code from the ford radio serial. Got a spare key cut ( basic blade only in case of lockout) at timpsons .. will get a transponder done in due course... the bigger branches can read the code.. and the key itself is done by eye ... 6 different cuts of various levels 1-4
